mechaninac Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 So, the series will take place prior to the events in The Avengers or in an alternate timeline? Quote
Duke Togo Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 What? You really thought he was dead for good? Quote

Duke Togo Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Forgive me for being literal when I watch a movie... It's comics, dude--no one is really ever dead. Quote
Roy Focker Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 But with him being alive then there's no point in having an Avengers 2 because his death brought them together. Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 It's comics, dude--no one is really ever dead. It's comics, dude--no one is really ever dead.Except if you're Bucky Barnes, Elektra, Jason Todd, Professor X, Cyclops, Cable, J'onn J'onzz, Jean Grey.... Oh snap! Never mind.. As for SHIELD, I'll watch it but without Sam "Bad MoFo" Jackson I hope it's at least watchable (Arrow is the best Comic Book TV show now)... Quote
Dynaman Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 But with him being alive then there's no point in having an Avengers 2 because his death brought them together. Why? They could always kill him again... Quote
VF-15 Banshee Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 Pretty damn awesome but I hope they do a little more than just mix it up with various and sundry superpowered people. Doesn't SHIELD usually contend with AIM and HYDRA and other organizations in addition to capes, Asgardians and aliens? Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Good to see Ming Na Wen is back, and still looking pretty good-I'll be watching! Quote
Hikuro Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 At first I was like now I'm like . I'm conflicted if I should enjoy this or not cause it's a TV series so it'll be fairly low budget and wont have any of Thor, Tony, Banner, and the Cap. And I seriously doubt it'll have much of anything with good ol' Jackson in it. It's just, people have a soft spot for Coleson....and that's where I'm conflicted. Quote

But I can't say what the budget will be for the rest of the season. But ya' know, with $300M (US) and near $1B total worldwide from Iron Man 3, you would think Disney has enough money to spend on this show. Quote
Vepariga Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 Id like to hear their excuse for making him alive. I suppose it was planned for Coulson to get stabbed thru the chest by loki. But whatevs,Marvel. I'll probably see bits and peices of this as it goes. Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted May 15, 2013 Posted May 15, 2013 I got it! Coulsen's a Life Model Decoy. Fury's got a stock pile of them stashed in the Helicarrier.. Quote
badboy00z Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Marvel's version of Smallville in a sense? That's the feeling I'm getting here anyways. Quote
Uxi Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Was hoping they would have had Samuel Jackson for at least the pilot. Cameos for RDJ, ScarletJo, etc? Quote

azrael Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 From EW: Cobie Smulders joins 'SHIELD'! First photo I'm assuming she'll show up from time to time this season until How I Met Your Mother concludes this season. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Anyone watching? The show premiere looks like Joss Whedon has a decent budget to work with. The effects are pretty good so far. Edited September 25, 2013 by davidwhangchoi Quote

Guest davidwhangchoi Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) forgot about Firefly... when i saw the hq plane coming out of the hanger, it reminded my of Vega's (Bison's) plane from street fighter II's animated movie. Edited September 25, 2013 by davidwhangchoi Quote
mechaninac Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Maybe I'm just too jaded, but I wasn't all that impressed by the premier; as in, mostly "yawn". On the plus side, the way they explained agent Coulson's non-room temperature status as a double cross orchestrated by Nick Fury to motivate the Avengers was a passable, if not entirely satisfactory, way of dealing with the seeming inconsistency with the events in the Avengers movie... and the fact they kept offhandedly referring to the events thereof was a nice tie-in. On the minus side, that last sequence with Lola turning into a Back to the Future (or is it Man in Black?) style hover car was waaaaayyy too cheesy and had me groaning and rolling my eyes. Dangard Ace Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I'll watch it. Looks fun.....and Chloe Bennet. Quote

That car was from Captain America I think. At least those hover engines were. Quote

Shepard Book as the flight surgeon and they alluded to a secret around ("he must never know") Coleson's resurrection other than a Fury lie from avengers. Quote
