coronadlux Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I agree, the Macross World should be the one made. Quote
Jasonc Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 I think the logo is going to be on them all. Quote
isamu Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Wow...Torrence huh? Interesting. I might actually consider going this year, since it's only about 30 minutes away from where I live. Quick question though....will there be any screenings of any Macross movies or OVAs? Will you be showing DYRL on a large projection screen or anything like that? Quote
EXO Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Not this year. Program is packed! Actually we're starting to do separate screenings on a different month. We still have to do one for Macross Plus BluRay! Quote

coronadlux Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Probably means that the day's schedule is already planned out to accommodate everything. Especially the autograph sessions. I'm sure that those will take up half the day. Just with Mari and her concert, you're looking at at least an hour plus the time it takes for her autograph. Quote

I want one of his drawings too. edit: in my excitement, I didn't even click on the link. I'm so gonna have to really hustle up and make some serious cash to have at least 1 chance to win this. Awesome. Edited September 10, 2013 by coronadlux Quote

bigkid24 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 is there going to be venders like for buying macross toys and models? We're still hammering out the vendor line up but we'll definitely have a variety of vendors including some prominent board members selling duplicates and extras from their collections so definitely bring your money. Quote
erikos0311 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 What if members only have seldom items like a valk or two?!? Quote
EXO Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 If you only have a few items like that, I'd say sell it in the forums and arrange for pickup outside the con. From what I hear it was a mess last year because the rules were pretty lax and the few vendors were kinda annoyed because they paid to be there. We want to respect the vendors that we've invited this year especially because a lot of people that go to the cons are looking for them when they come. We finally found a place that allows this so let's try not to screw it up. But don't try and open up shop outside the con either, the city won't allow that. Those kinda things, like the food truck that is coming requires permits that has been paid for. Anyone selling merchandise in the vicinity has to be asked to leave. A place like this has to be paid for up front, hence why we're trying to raise a lot of funds. Plus the costs of having guests and all the supplies add up. Don't worry, we've got plenty of stuff set up to make it all worth it. Quote
Benson13 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I'll be at the Courtyard Marriott Torrence. Quote

coronadlux Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I'm still wondering what I am going to take to him to sign. I can maybe have my wife print out some 13x19 prints of his work. Quote
EXO Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 hey before you get that done. Tenjin requested a few things. If it's Macross, it has to be official Macross items, no bootlegs, no reproductions. Actually, no non Big West Merchandise. In Japan you HAVE to buy the merchandise. He's being pretty cool about having people bring their own items. If it's non Macross, make sure it has something to do with Tenjin and his work. Also, no bootlegs, no reproductions. He's pretty excited about meeting American Macross fans and is doing a lot of extras for the con, let's try to be sensitive to what you're presenting to him. There will be people there to check out what you're getting signed before hand, but I don't want you guys to waste your time or money on things that'll get rejected. Also we'll have vendors that will be selling his work, such as Anime Books. Quote

Jasonc Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I'm still wondering what I am going to take to him to sign. I can maybe have my wife print out some 13x19 prints of his work. Getting guests from Japan is not an easy task, and Tenjin is doing this with a lot of kindness and respect to all of us fans. We would like to, and shall, maintain a high level of respect for our guests as well. We want to give our guest a great representation of Macross fans in the United States in general, so that we may also bring other guests in the future. Having Tenjin attend maybe a glorious start to something we can continue. I believe books with Tenjin's art and his artbooks will be on sale at the convention, and they can also be found on the net. (If you can get the 2 Valkyries books, you won't be disappointed). He also has a wonderful artbook with illustrations of Macrss, Votoms, Gundam, and others. He also works on the Macross Chronicles magazines. Quote
EXO Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 this is such an awesome opportunity. i emailed. i hope i get in. thanks for doing this! Yes! We've received quite a few inquiries already! The person in charge of this is busy on the weekends preparing for his wife's baby shower. He'll respond to the emails during the week! Quote
coronadlux Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 I was thinking of something I could frame and hang. Never thought about bootleg and reproduction stuff. Apologies to everyone. I'm embarrassed Would the box of a hasegawa VF-0D be ok, the entire box, not the top cut out of it. I do have a few models with his artwork on the boxes. But those are just the tops cut off. Will he have merchandise for sale there as well? Quote
EXO Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 No worries... I didn't think you meant any disrespect. I just wanted to make sure the requests he made were stated somewhere. I think if you wanted to do something like that, maybe have it framed already without the glass and then bring the book or whatever source you got the scan from. As long as your presentation doesn't make it look like you downloaded the image from the web, he'd be pleased that you want a framed picture of his work in your house. Like I said, he seems pretty cool and relaxed. But we also have to understand that he'll be protective over all the properties he represents, not just Macross but Gundam and Space Battleship Yamato, etc. It's best to bring original merchandise though. He won't be bringing any merchandise unless it's just for presentation. Quote
coronadlux Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 What I wanted to do was to get my wife to print the image of the VF-0D on a canvas, then wrap it around a frame. She is a graphic designer working in a casino, so I would not be spending any cash. lol. If that is ok, I would bring the original box of course, Then I would ask her to make 2 and leave one for future fundraising. PM me if you would like to talk about it some more. Thanks Quote
VF-15 Banshee Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Tenjin does pretty much all the Macross Chronicle covers right? Quote
EXO Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I haven't been getting them but I think he's done most of the covers. I'd need to check out that thread to make sure if it's all. Quote
coronadlux Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 I think he did the cover for the Folder of this current run of the chronicles. Quote
EXO Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 We'll have new pictures Friday!!! I can' wait! Quote
