with a proxy service, what will be the cheapest final cost for the above two, i think Gakken mentioned it would be about 80-100 on top of the winning bid? are there proxy's that are cheaper or are they similar all across the board.

looks like alto's 171 are getting posted higher (haven't sold yet, just seen it posted) but it's listed on mandrake for 20,000yen

you can tell it's inflated bc it's the same bidder for both. and the price just jumped way too much from 20000 yen to 60000

This bidder has bid on ALL recent auctions of new Yamato valkyries, of at least 1 item. He's either someone who came into new money, or a scalper of the real scheming kind... who will clollect them and sell them all together in 10 years for the price, of ehm, a small flat in Shinjuku perhaps.

I don't know if this scheme would play out well. I feel that toy collecting as an investment has the same problem as collecting comics for a payoff.

Now everybody takes good care of their toys (and doesn't play with them :p) so much more units will be available in the future reducing the value of the toy in the future.

It's not like the early 80s where kids played with their Takatoku Valkys until they getting destroyed by a blow torch.

As another negative side effect it seems that modern toys have a death clock implemented so they will self destruct in their boxes even if the were never taken out. :D

So I don't know if this is a smart move. I could be wrong however.

Maybe the bidder just recently (re-)discovered his love for Macross (dare I say Robotech?) and as a lot of play money. ;)

Well....Yamato/Arcadia seems to not like re-issuing "combo" sets.....but a re-issue of a VF-4G with OPTION parts and LED lighting and a coupon for FREE FB2012 version mail-in is surely right around the corner!!! :p:D:lol:

LOL...fair enough.....as long as you tell me when the "HLJ clearance sale" for it starts....not 3 days after Arcadia announces its "re-organization" in January 2015 and the panic sales begin!!!! :(

No, he is more of a satanic seller :lol:

Do NOT buy from him, have a look at the blacklist on the sale and trade section. He gets mention at least every 3 pages.

esthertool is a HK seller on ebay, that goes also by the name cherrytab and another one I don't remember. You can tell easily by his "1000% genuine" item description.

He usually puts a valk for a reasonable price as buy it now/best offer with free shipping, if you make an offer, he will then give you a counteroffer that's higher, adjust the buy it now price to a higher one and claim some bull about free shipping. If you do a buy it now at one of his fishing prices, he will claim damage wet box and refund.

Far as I know, only one person got something from him. But everyone else who's tried to deal with him has the same story.
