Skull-1 Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 My Macross Zero Ep. 1 is now showing a lot of distortion during playback. The bottom of the screen is neon green with some strange motion to it... It only recently began doing this. Now I see that BitTorrent has pulled Ep. 1 for a re-release of it. Is there a problem with the original or is it my media player? It used to work just fine... ?????? Quote
Skull-1 Posted December 13, 2003 Author Posted December 13, 2003 Episode 2 still works perfectly, BTW. I'm a bit perplexed. Quote
Göönk Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 I have the NewLife Anime version as well. No distortion at all. (do u mean sound or image distortion?) Can you give timing? I guess your file was altered by something. Quote
Skull-1 Posted December 13, 2003 Author Posted December 13, 2003 Just little green blobs during anything that has action in it. The catapult shot of Shin's Tomcat, for example. Hmmmmmmmmmm....... How odd. It worked just fine before. Quote
Myriad Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 Maybe a codec problem.............. Have you updated or grabbed any new codecs lately? Quote
Skull-1 Posted December 14, 2003 Author Posted December 14, 2003 I just reinstalled the one I used previously when it worked okay. Same problem. I then downloaded a new codec. Same problem. Episode 2 plays perfectly though. Quote
F360° Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 is the files on a CD or on your harddrive? Quote
Skull-1 Posted December 15, 2003 Author Posted December 15, 2003 Hard drive. I do have a CD backup somewhere. Maybe I should try it to see... Anyone have a URL to re-download it? Quote
Skull-1 Posted December 15, 2003 Author Posted December 15, 2003 Just checked it on the CD ROM and it's messed up, too. Episode Two is perfect. WTH? Quote
MAXXxxx Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 it's a codec problem. there is 2 main versions of the xvid codec (or 2 different builds to be exact) with one of them I had a similar problem, with the other it plays perfectly. Quote
Skull-1 Posted December 15, 2003 Author Posted December 15, 2003 Got a link for me? The codec worked three months ago... Quote
imode Posted December 15, 2003 Posted December 15, 2003 Got a link for me?The codec worked three months ago... Try this. http://www.divx-digest.com/software/ffdshow.html Quote

MAXXxxx Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Got a link for me?The codec worked three months ago... Try this. http://www.divx-digest.com/software/ffdshow.html hmm, yep that's the one I use, but the 20021213 build the one that played it bad for me is the 20020617 build from your link. I use this right now: FFDshow 20021213 Quote
imode Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I must be retarded. Still not working. Version 3.11 Alpha, right? gn0. 3.11 alpha is an old Divx codec. You want Xvid and FFDShow. Quote
