Lots of scopedog variations, but nothing else. Bandai sure loves to milk a mold, but I’ve been super hesitant about their hg kits since I haven’t seen anything else from them. Wave on the other hand slowly has been putting out quite a few different kits from the franchise. If I knew Bandai would do more of the other armored trooper designs I’d probably consider getting some of their kits.

Takara is introducing a new label called "T-Spark" which will be focusing on high-end toys and model kits (think Bandai's Tamashii). As part of this label there will be a line called "Toyr!se" and it seems Takara has got some Scopedogs in the pipeline and in 1/48 scale – which sort of makes it like a spiritual successor to their earlier Actic Gear line!

(Start at 3:38 mark for Toyr!se)

Thanks for posting those. I wanted to do a Hi-Metal R review but I checked my Dual Model review for reference and discovered that it was not complete and what was there wasn't 100% correct. So then I pulled out all of those toys and now I have a great review of a toy no one has been concerned with for decades and still no review for the relevant toy. Sigh.

The HMR is still high on my 'to-do' list.

Now you have a great review of a toy no one else has reviewed on YouTube, rather than a review for the relevant toy everybody else has already reviewed.

I'd say your reviews of vintage toys have more intrinsic value, owing to what little information exists elsewhere. :good:

Thanks for posting that! Man, CM's toys were so awful when it came to durability. I have a huge box of these Votoms toys but I've only handled the Scopedog and I was appalled at the quality.

Sorry I didn't catch your comment earlier tekering, I appreciate the words of encouragement!

Bandai messes up that cover design.

Byman never had nor used missile-tubes either in ROA or TLRS.  He prefers solid shooter bazooka.

Never seen any TC nor regular 'Dog fielding both at the same time, either.

Frickin' Bandai asymmetry shenanigans... :5:

That has the vibe of a 3d print that is good to display with a space assault scopedog but may never see the light of day.

Since I hade some Scope Dogs when I was younger, I was wandering how good are the Hi-MetalR versions from Bandai?

Are they worth collecting or is there something better out there?

I can't speak about the Hi-Metal R one since I didn't bought one. Wish I did since it's a good size and good quality based on some YouTube videos I've seen. But I don't have any more space for it. Plus the price too.

What I have are Takara's 1/18 DMZ Series Scopedogs (Turbo Custom and Round Mover Equipped). Some of the leg joints are loose so I need to put some support stands for now or display them at the back so they're leaning back to the cabinet more. Hopefully when I find time I will be able to tighten their joints. I don't play with my toys once I put them in the cabinet. Wish there was a DMZ Marshy Dog though. I think I'm good for now when it comes to Scopedogs. However, if the HMR price is $100 or below, I'll get them. ;)

Thanks! I saw that @jenius reviewed some Takara's a couple of month ago which where the ones I had when I was younger.... Maybe he'll get some HM'R and let us know how they are!?

I have the Hi-Metal R Scopedog Red Shoulder Custom that came out around a year ago and I would recommend it.  I don't have any other Scopedog toys to compare it to, but it has good articulation, comes with the pilot figure that can actually sit in the pilot seat and a good array of the usual Red Shoulder Weapon loadout.
