grogall Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Instructions are up for HI-METAL R SCOPEDOG TURBO CUSTAM so release is immanent... I'm getting my first Hi-Metal R Scopedog tomorrow and have preordered the other two! Hope I'm not disappointed...🤗 Quote
no3Ljm Posted October 25 Posted October 25 (edited) 2 hours ago, grogall said: Has this been released yet? Maybe today's the day that this is being shipped in Japan locally since it's a TWE release. I only see one post about it in Twitter. Posted 4 hours ago. There's no exact release date yet from TamashiiWeb site. Edit: I checked the P-Bandai item page and it does say October 25 as the release date. So yeah, expect your item soon from your favorite proxy store. But if you ordered late, then maybe your order was placed during the 2nd batch order which will be released in November. Edited October 25 by no3Ljm Quote
jenius Posted October 27 Posted October 27 It looks like ThreeZero also shipped out their RoboDou Scopedog. Mine is ordered from BBTS so I'll be lucky to have it before year end. I think when that arrives I'll do a comparison of the HMR and RoboDou. Quote
treatment Posted October 29 Posted October 29 (edited) no Wotafa vid, yet, but here's another unboxing and handling video of the HMR Turbo Custom Scopedog with a rather really nice electronic background music. Yeah, his bgm is cool and kinda soothingly addictive... Edited October 29 by treatment Quote
no3Ljm Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Oh man. I'm trying not to watch these review videos so that I won't need to think that I might need to replace my DMZ Scopedogs. And mind you, I only have two -- DMZ-05 & DMZ-06. Quote

Got my first Bandai HM-R Scopedog yesterday, must admit it's quite nice but I wish the tray hade a place for all the little panels you have to remove! But like the feel and weight of it! although its quite small... now waiting for the next one. 🤗 Quote

Are you saying that the tray should have extra slots exactly molded to the parts that was removed from the figure? It's going to be weird once you open a newly purchased figure in the future and see those empty slots. Besides you can just put those removed parts to some empty slots once you remove the main figure and some accessories that you're going to use. Or you can also use small ziplocks too and put it under the hollow portion of the tray. Quote

treatment Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) oh, goody! Wotafa's started building the 1/8 Hachette kit!!! (Wonder what happened to his Hachette Great Maz build.) vols 1-4: Wish they easily offer this kit at hlj or something... Edited October 31 by treatment Quote

I’m actually putting a lot of accessories now in ziplocks and put them in one big plastic bins. Imagine the space I saved once I throw them boxes. The only ones I’m having difficulties of throwing out are the neat cool-looking boxes. (Looking at you Bandai’s DX Chogokin and Metal Build boxes.) Quote

Can’t wait to see the finish product. I’m also wondering about his Mazinger build too. Quote

grogall Posted November 10 Posted November 10 (edited) I'm getting my 2nd Scopedog tomorrow, But was wandering who is the pilot for the ATM-09-STTC? Bandai wrote on the package that ATM-09-RSC is piloted by Chirico Cuvie, but I can't find any thing on the box for the second scopedog release, so is it just a generic votom pilot? Also it was really hard trying to find what scale the HighMetal-R's where till I finally found a comparison picture from @jenius, although I don't think he has posted a review yet!? Also where there both Left and Right red shoulders? I always thought only the left sided shoulders were painted red!? But from this picture of a Bandai HG model there was also right red shoulders? The red shoulder thing on the left was first seen in the show and turned out to be a mistake. Chirico corrected the painter and told him that the blood sucker battalion of red shoulders had them on the right and a different shade of red. the pilots for the turbo custom depends on the load out. There’s a post a bit above on this page that tells which pilot went with each loadout Edited November 10 by Big s Quote
jenius Posted November 10 Posted November 10 I didn't get around to doing a HMR review, I went to do one only to realize I never did a dual model review so I spent a few weeks getting that done instead. I probably won't get a proper HMR review up until the round mover version comes out. I have a big backlog of other toys to get through first and not a ton of time to work on them. Quote
grogall Posted November 10 Posted November 10 (edited) @Big s First thanks! I think I meant to say that the ATM-09-STTC isn't really linked to a specific character? hence also having no unit number given! First release ATM-09-RSC (Chirico Cuvie) Unit # 31 Second Release ATM-09-STTC (Generic Pilot) no Unit # Third release ATM-09-ST (Proto-1, Fyana) Unit # 68 Guess that's it for now.... jenius Posted November 10 Posted November 10 2 hours ago, grogall said: @Big s Second Release ATM-09-STTC (Generic Pilot) no Unit # In the movie there are four TCs that attack the base so you can call it generic but it's intended to be one of the four main characters and you can determine which one by which weapons you install since they had slightly different load outs. I guess that's kinda generic but Chirico/Gregore/Murza/Byman is more accurate. Quote

Dunno about Unit-numbering. Prolly a mook thing. At any rate, going by the anime canon... The ATM-09-ST Scopedogs are specifically meant to be generic grunt machines like the GMs in Gundam and the VF-1A Brownies in Macross. Many characters pilot the ATM-09-ST in the series (TV/OVA), whether they're primary or secondary or even mostly unnamed military or Battling arena mercs. Chirico is the main character in the series, so he gets to pilot several variants of the Scopedog. The HMR RSC is especially customized and piloted by him in the TV series. However, the HMR TC variant that just came out was from the OVA called The Last Red Shoulder, and it was rebuilt from scraps collected by Gregore and used by his old squad that includes Chirico. Inciidentally, the HMR TC variant have four pilots by strict canon: Gregore Byman Murza Chirico Unlike the RSC, we can only guess that Bandai did not want to produce four distinct helmet-less pilots for the TC. The upcoming Space Dog variant is also from the TV series and has two pilots by strict canon: Chirico and Fyana. For now, only Fyana is shown as the upcoming pilot figure for it. It'll be really interesting if Bandai sneaks in a helmeted Chirico figure with it to stay canon. I reckon the reason why Bandai interestingly teased the HMR Space Fatty (B-ATM-03) is because Chirico piloted one in the TV series for his duel with Ypsilon. Heck, he also piloted a Zwerg (X-ATL-01-DT) in the TV series. That said, there are many other ATM-09 variants and non-ATM-09 variants that appeared prominently in the TV and the various OVA series that Bandai may or may not produce an HMR of. Hopefully, this HMR Votoms line does not go the way Bandai treated the HMR Dougram line... Edited November 10 by treatment weird excessive paragraph spacing Quote

I haven't seen the show since late 1980's so haven't even seen the two OVA's and Movie, getting them on Blu-ray is pretty expensive with the series costing $600 , but I'm looking into other options.... The US Blu-Ray release was quite discounted to around $40 at amzn a year or so ago. Maybe they'll re-issue it, Or even better, maybe they'll actually license the recent remastered JP blu-ray version for release outside of Japan. One can only hope... Quote
