Gakken85 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I would have to pick Takara with their work on the Transformers Masterpiece line, and their superior scopedog work for the Votoms series. Their quality issues seem to be heads and shoulders above what Yamato offered, and they seem to strike a perfect balance with transformations that are complex enough without being frustrating, while keeping great looking representations of the art from the shows. Not to mention they seem to have a handle on getting toys to American audiences better than Bandai. Quote

kyekye Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Bandai version of 1/60th Macross TV, DYRL, Plus line - (with gimmicks in new model kit. Oh and Already-renewal version!- no multiple release) Arcadia version of 1/60 Macross Frontier line (this sounds tough.. That detailed Cockpit sounds really nice, too) Hot Toys 12" version of All Pilots and Characters Hot Wheels (or Takara) version of all mini diecast collection! Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Tonka! that way I'll know it will never break. Macross toys will never be sold in the US directly, only as imports. Blame Harmony Gold. Quote
xrentonx Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) ARCADIA! Ok, ok...if not Arcadia/Yamato then I'll play the devil's advocate and go with Bandai even though I'm not a huge fan. Don't know about Takara having a better handle on getting their stuff to American audiences (I think Bandai is really good at it; see properties most of us here at MW don't care about like Power Rangers and Gundam) but this doesn't matter because of the gorilla in the room called HG. Bandai or Takara ain't gonna get past that! Edited March 29, 2013 by xrentonx Quote
charger69 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Yamato. We were dreaming about a possible 1/60 VF-9 Cutlass just a few months ago... Graham is right Yamato was my dream company... 2012 Macross Heaven 2013 Macross Mayhem... Quote
ff95gj Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Yamato for all the mechas, and Maxfactory for all the characters in the Figma series. Quote
OmegaD3k Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Yamato. Or ThreeA (imagine the destroids all weathered up with electronics like the 1/48 Metal Gear, but in 1/60 or 1/72 scale). Quote
Ivan Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Have Graham start a company and hire all the ex-employees of Yamato Quote
Scyla Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 If not Yamato then definitely Bandai. I have a few Transformers Masterpiece toys and in my opinion they are inferior to Bandais offerings (DX Chogokin Renewal Valkyries <=> Takara tomy Masterpiece) Yeah I know paint scratching is an common issue from Bandai items but the paint jobs on some of the Sideswipe Masterpieces were just horrid. Thanks but no thanks. And even if they could make Macross popular in the West due to HG has a sudden change of heard or would be burned out of reality with Balefire I shiver to think what Hasbro or even Toynami would do with the license. I honestly think that Bandai would achieve the best results with the help of some external design teams. On the other hand Bandai is such a huge company that the probably never green-light projects like Yamato did with all the obscure Valkyries and color shemes. You would probably need a small company run by fans for fans like.... Yamato Quote

Ignacio Ocamica Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) Arcadia with the same people that designed the VF-1 v2, VF-19, VF-17, VF-4G, DYRL? SDF-1!!! Arcadia should start the Macross line with the 1/60 YF-19 ver 2. Edited March 29, 2013 by Ignacio Ocamica Quote
CF18 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 LEGO. Seriously I would like to see Lego license expend to more than just major western movies and comics. And the Macross god himself use Lego for prototyping. Quote
ff95gj Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Theoretically, you can build just anything with Lego already. Quote
valhary Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 it is possible that bandai acquire the yamato´s molds if my bad memory me right this already happen with the original mold of the 1/55 line Quote
lechuck Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Bandai, Takara, Aoshima and Kotobukiya would be the ones I trust. Quote
Sandman Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 (edited) Bandai, Takara, Aoshima and Kotobukiya would be the ones I trust. Ugh! Aoshima's Legioss were horrible! Edited April 1, 2013 by Sandman Quote
JET7 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 for model kits, FUJIMI for diecast planes if ever, AOSHIMA or AUTOART Quote
mechaninac Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Ugh! Aoshima's Legioss were horrible! Understandably so since all they did was use Toynami's molds and production facilities under licence, with a precious few tweeks/upgrades on their part. Quote
Arthurius Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 But Yamato is no more, you cant vote for them, I demand a recount!!!! . And Arcadia will likely not take on Macross either (and even if they did, whos knows what quality level they will offer) Quote
Mechapilot77 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 i' m still hoping arcadia will pick up all of the macross stuff from yamato. the molds, the designers, everything. Quote

SuperSenpai Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 Bandai, Takara, Aoshima and Kotobukiya would be the ones I trust. Kotobukiya makes great statues, but I've never seen them make anything articulated. I'm a little afraid at what their first attempt to make anything as complicated as a Valkyrie might look like. Quote
Uxi Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Probably Takara before Tomy. Hasbro could have had a chance to buy out HG... But Yamato was a wonderful company I'll always be fond of, even if it was gray market. Quote
