skullmilitia Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) HKC usually don't screw around, it could be securing product stuff in warehouses more then an actual re-stock from Ghost yamato it literally just appeared, so if you order soon, it's more likely you will get one, and not get a cancel notice. Valkyrie addict Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) Pre-ordered!!! Your move HKCollectibles!! I did find odd how HKCollectibles and other places restocked the VF-17 FAST packs about a month ago, perhaps this are items that were already payed for and in production line at the factories before Yamato filed for bankruptcy and are now arriving to the companies. skullmilitia Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Have to ask Graham, but perhaps Yamato used distribution centers and Distributors, and they are finally getting around to releasing all the back log product sitting around. It's possible (looking at the way Takara does business) that there are still a few warehouses left with pallets full of the last few releases being sold now that product is escaping from the shelves. Like the production order was filled, Yamato sends everything to the distribution centers, distributor sells to HLJ, HKC, ect. HKC sells out of most product and re-orders... Distributors open up dusty pallets of back logged Valks and starts offering them up. unless HKC messed up, there might be one last hurrah of product to come. I dream of being Scrooge Mc.Duck but instead of jumping into a tower of money, it's a tower of Yammy boxes. Oh how awesome would it be to see the last few 30th releases seep out. I'm looking at you VF-1D and VE-1. Quote

Reïvaj Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 According to HKC, the VF-1S Hikaru Movie Version 30th Anniversary Edition will be released in Apr. 2013. Quote

Scyla Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I assume that the prices will go down a bit if the whole buying frenzy is over and people realize that the don't need all the Valkyries that the ordered in a hurry. If you can't get a toy at MSRP maybe it would be a smart move to wait a few month before resorting to ebay. I guess the Yamato prices are at a peek at the moment. Everyone in the business is thinking that now is the time to make a bag full of money because of the uncertainty of the situation. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 If any of you guys are interested. Angolz has the VF-22S Gamlin for USD98, ordered one for me. http://www.angolz.com/store/macross-dynamite-7-1-60-vf-22s-sturmvogel-ii-gamrin-kizaki.html Quote
raptormesh Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Argh, tempting to have at least one mainline VF-1 in my collection but I prefer the brilliant white of the TV version. Hmmm hmmm Quote
derex3592 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) Angloz has some pretty good prices on Yamato stuff right now....tempted to pickup a Kaki TV and use it to try to make my never-gonna-happen Alaska Base Valk!!!! Edited March 29, 2013 by derex3592 Quote

Chronocidal Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Definitely a good Friday. Psh, I see what you did thar. Same for me, just got my YF-29 delivered from NY. ..Which still doesn't explain how LAX customs still has my VF-19S from HKC. The YF-29 was shipped almost a week after the VF-19, and I got it before? Quote
mechaninac Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Definitely a good Friday. Indeed. I've just been delivered my small haul from HKC, like 5 minutes ago. I just love it when things just fall into place: Being able to get a pretty good deal on a VF-19S and VF-17S, non-express (less expensive) shipping transiting fairly quickly, and me getting the day off to be home to sign for the package upon its arrival. A good Friday. Happy Easter/Passover everyone. Quote

Loop Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Nice loot Loop! But the real question is: (in a Brad Pitt voice) What's in the box! Decided to also add the 1/48 VF-1 Max Chronicles and the VF-1A SVF-26 Cavalier as they were bought at the same time. Quote
Valkyrie Magnus Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Very Nice! My kid was excited with boxes coming in twice a week. I went to Sakura Con today. Not much Macross stuff or cosplayers. Quote
plastik Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 mr. loop, you sir know how to place an order. ive been getting 2 packages a week for the past 4 weeks and it's been like christmas. Yesterday was a vf-0a with ghost booster set and today was the vf-1s max. It makes me sad to know that the vf-11b arriving next week will be my last one...so sad Quote
mechaninac Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Holy cow Loop, that's an epic haul! I don't know if I should congratulate you, or call the paramedics to give your wallet some much needed emergency care; either way, I am in awe of your buying spree... makes my meager purchase pale in comprison. Quote
Mommar Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I finally caved and panic bought a second 17D. Quote
Loop Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Thanks guys. I figured I would save on shipping if I got a huge order in at once. I have to rearrange my "box closet" now so I can pack them away in storage. Quote
Benson13 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I got nothin' on that. I don't even have words. Quote
vt102 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Very nice haul Loop. Here is my measley haul... I actually found one at a decent price. Now back to collecting 1/60 V2's... LOL Quote

anubis20 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Well in a panic i just bought a 1/60 fire valk and sound booster for $145 and a 19S for $165. With that i bid adieu to Yamato, i have the hero valk and the S type for every series. Quote
robotechdave Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 how do i achieve the alaksa base valk? buy one of those white kits and try painting the pieces green? how do i go about painting the valk to make it look realistic? spray paint of some sort? can someone help? It's not just the Alaska Base valk, how are you going to make the other one? 7719569664_c6a0627c99_b.jpg 7719568982_11089ef5a9_b.jpg Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) Best way is to use the VF-1A assembly kit. I am...those pins are a pain. Progress so far, I decided on a darker tone of green. Edited March 30, 2013 by Valkyrie addict Quote

robotechdave Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 (edited) wow cool, how are you going about painting the pieces? some sort of special model paint? and how do you prevent the paint from seeping on the white areas so that it looks clean? darker green looks pretty good! It looks like from the earlier pics, yamato was planning on realeasing an alaksa base valk? I wonder if they were able to get them produced before they went under? Best way is to use the VF-1A assembly kit. I am...those pins are a pain. Progress so far, I decided on a darker tone of green. Edited March 31, 2013 by robotechdave Quote
johnkillingsworth Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 The Alaska Base was never released. Awesome custom with the unassembled VF-1A kit! I'm going to have to pick one up and try it myself...or ask someone else to do it who actually knows how to paint a model. Maybe if I don't have to paint those damn red lines on the legs. Would love to get a VF-1D kit to paint in CF colors too. Quote
