Scyla Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Wouldn't it be a better business decision for Arcadia if they stat distributing painted and built Hasegawa kits of the Valkyries if all the nifty Perfect Transformation VFs end up in Fighter-mode anyway? That would end the whole line art discussion. Quote
Mommar Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Well Gerwalk is an awesome mode in my opinion. I had my VF-25G setup so it looked like it was stopping its fast descent with full force while holding the sniper rifle. The legs were as forward as possible and as wide spread as possible so it looked like a huge bird of prey trying to grab his victim. Imagine a bald eagle with a building size rifle coming at you. My 25F is pulling something VERY similar. Quote
ErikElvis Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 (edited) I just realized I have a problem. (mental) 22 fighter 19 battroid 2 gerwalk I had no idea I had that many Valks. Edited March 7, 2013 by ErikElvis Quote
Mommar Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Looks like you have three problems, a lot of Valks, little space and only two in Gerwalk. Quote
SuperSenpai Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 By the way, this poll seems incomplete --- where's Guardian mode? Quote
GXPT2000 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I mean, if you have multiple valks you would want to display all 3 modes at the same time. Don't think anyone would display a lonely gerwalk unless its like a famous scene. I would display a battroid if it is extremely posable. Otherwise fighter mode is the winner! Quote
Loute Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 It depends: Yamatos' 1/60 VF-1D and VT-1 as Gerwalk VE-1 as fighter, I'm gonna need a stand one day to avoid using the landing gears VF-1A(+GBP) and VF-1S(+SSP) as battroids Bandais' VF-25S Ozma Gen 1 Battroid, hardly stays in place while in gerwalk Toynamis' VF-1A + SSP as gerwalk and battroid following my mood VF-1S Focker and Hikaru left in boxes for further modfication "when I have time" Hard to say but I think overall my favorite form is Gerwalk because it reveals the ability to transform between fighter and battroid and because it's so... Macross. As far as I remember, this anime was the first showing transforming robots capable of tactically using a mid-tranformation, that was soooooooooo cool at the time Quote
eugimon Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 18 fighter 3 gerwalk 23 battroid. I guess I prefer battroid mode. Quote
dapro Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I am getting my 3 vf-1. I am thinking displaying one of each mode. Quote
Valkyrie Magnus Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I forgot I do have my VF-1D trainer in gerwalk mode Quote
Kicker773 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Gonna transform the frontier v1 to valk modes and replace them slowly with the v2 Quote
senator02103 Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I just got my first VF01-S TV version and put it in the cabinet in fighter mode, seeing the awesome quality and size of it (Yamato 1/60) has made me think I should get atleast another VF01-S just to do it up in Gerwalk mode, Gerwalk Mode is great. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Looking at my collection I'd say I have all my valks equally distributed between the three modes. Quote
locidm Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 to me it's more a question of how much space I have to effectively display my valks without the clutter. Batteroid mode is the most space efficient, followed by Gerwalk, and fighter mode takes up the most square footage. Having said that, in my display, I have battroids and fighters/gerwalk on stands in the back, gerwalks in the middle, and fighters in the front, kinda evenly distributed. Quote
Gakken85 Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 They should make display stands that branch off and can hold 3 or 4 valks at different angles but with one base. kind of like \ / with back and forward pieces that slant off. Quote
Scyla Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 Maybe you should mod your Valkyries with red, green and white LEDs and turn them on during Christmas season. Quote
derex3592 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 As I run out of room in my case....I am becoming a battroid guy out of necessity!!! Quote
Andy NYK Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 gotta be gerwalk, cos to me "macross = gerwalk" Quote
Gakken85 Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 As I run out of room in my case....I am becoming a battroid guy out of necessity!!! haha Quote
Mommar Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 I just counted my collection up. So odd. 13 in Gerwalk, 13 in Battroid and 11 in Fighter. Kind of creepy how many lucky thirteens I have going on there. Quote
raptormesh Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Fighter mode all the way, the rare times when I leave them in battroid mode is when I was struggling for space. Quote
vlenhoff Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I change them all the time, but fighter is awesome. Quote
EXO Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Before I knew what Macross was I used to store my 1/100 taka valks in submarine mode... fighter with backpack up and wings folded all the way closed. I was kinda disappointed they didn't have it in the cartoons when they finally aired robotech. Quote
Gakken85 Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 So, like a Valk Xmas tree Exactly! Submarine mode? they should make that a thing Quote
raptormesh Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) Exactly! Submarine mode? they should make that a thing If only they'd make a VF-0D... Edited March 15, 2013 by raptormesh Quote
Skull-1 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 For 1/48 Yamato I go with fighter. Everything else I pretty much like Gerwalk/Guardian mode. Quote
Gakken85 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 I like 1/48's in battroid. They just look awesome and you can get all the detail. But honestly they look good in both Quote
Muzaffar Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Fighter for me too. I love Macross for the cool Jet designs and don't really care much for the other 2 modes. In fact, I have never even transformed any of my Valks. Quote
