sbarrett4 Posted December 12, 2003 Posted December 12, 2003 I won a lot of parts, and in sorting them out I came across two small valks, that seem to match up with the pictures of Takatoys Paro toys in the MW Toys section. They are about 2 inches tall in battroid mode. One has a VF-1S head and has JAPAN written on the underside of the body. The other has a VF-1J head and no writting at all. The 1J seems to be of a lesser quality plastic as well. Can anyone give me more info on these? Are they real, bootlegs, or something else entirely? Quote
sbarrett4 Posted December 12, 2003 Author Posted December 12, 2003 pics? I am at work right now, I will post pics later tonight. Quote
sbarrett4 Posted December 13, 2003 Author Posted December 13, 2003 Grr, for some reason I can't post pics directly. Here is a link to both: Paro Valk pics So what do I have? Quote
nemesis120 Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 Grr, for some reason I can't post pics directly. Here is a link to both:Paro Valk pics So what do I have? Odds are they are both convertors. The one on the right definitely is. And I don't know about the one on the left. These were made from the Takatoku Paro molds, so that's why they are similiar. Quote
Totoro242 Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 (edited) The Convertors re-release has JAPAN stamped behind the chest, so I would say that the blank one is some sort of other bootleg. Also, Convertors never released a VF1J, only four versions of the VF1S. Hikaru, Fokker, Millia, and Max. The original Takatoku version has a Big West copyright and other Japanese writing along with the < TT > Takatoku Toys symbol. Edited December 14, 2003 by Totoro242 Quote
