Bandai 15th Anniversary 1/72 Super VF-1A - worth it?

Hi!

I'm a newbie when it comes to modeling. I've only done some Gunpla and small pre-painted kits previously. I've now come across a Bandai 1/72 Super VF-1A kit and I can get it very cheap. For all of you with more experience, how is this kit? Is it suitable for beginners? And how does it hold up to the competition?

I picked up a Super J a while back for only $5. Yes, it's worth it at that price.

Compared to the Hasegawa kits, they're very dated. But, they're a nice beginner kit to cut your teeth on, as compared to the Hases.

You will need glue and paint to put them together. I've actually still got a Bandai Super S waiting to be built. Gonna try my hand a doing some small modifications to it when I finally get around to building it.

I'd say that would be a great beginner kit. I was my first kit when I was getting back into Macross modeling in 1999.
