Demon_seed_22 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 This is a newbie question. I did try to find the answer in the newbie pinned boards with no luck. What's the difference between the Origin of V. 1/55 and the macross 1/55? I know the OoV were released in 2008 as a reissue. I through the were re makes issues of the orig tatakuas..? I'm not sure when the other was released. What I'm most curious about is the differences in the toys...??? Here's a example of each of I didn't describe clearly. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251220760155?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/360575715205?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649# Quote
jvmacross Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Origin of Valkyrie came after the initial re-releases of the 1/55 Takatoku molds by Bandai....they are essentially the same....both have minor improvements over the original Takatoku releases. The Origin of Valkyrie release included a vf-1j tv, vf-1s tv, vf-1a Hikaru dyrl with fast packs, and a first ever vf-1a max dyrl with fast packs. The previous Bandai re-issues included: vf-1j tv, vf-1s tv, vf-1a standard tv, Max vf-1j tv, Milia vf-1j tv, dyrl Hikaru vf-1a, and vf-1s tv with super pack And before these....there was a funky headed Bandai vf-1s tv with fast packs....around 1989 or 1990.... GXPT2000 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I would love to see the funky headed version for once.. Quote
connor99 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I would love to see the funky headed version for once.. I second that. Would be nice if we can get a re-ish of the DYRL 1S HIKARU too, but oh well. Quote
EXO Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 It's this one. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/_bandai_super_vf1s.htm It has a rounded face instead of the flat one Found this review http://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/1990/vf1s_super_valkyrie_roy_focker_special Quote
jvmacross Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Yep...that's the funky headed one I was referring too....the only worse VF-1S head sculpt is arguably the Henkei or Yamato V1.... Quote
Demon_seed_22 Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 Thanks for the info. I orig thought I wanted a OoV but now I guess either will do. Anyone have a Roy version to part with?? Quote
jvmacross Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Thanks for the info. I orig thought I wanted a OoV but now I guess either will do. Anyone have a Roy version to part with?? The Origin of Valkyrie VF-1S is the hardest one to get....and is usually priced higher....unless you are a dead set on it...it would be easier and less expensive to get the Bandai VF-1S re-issue from 2001... Go here for info on all the 1/55 valks: http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=6244#more-6244 Quote

I'd say the Toynami 1/100 VF-1S has the worse head sculpt.
