I can't see the video here at work, but the attached article sounds hopeful. I think that if they stick to the formula, it could work. Weta's involvement is a good sign.

I re-watched some of the originals a couple of years ago and you can really see the influence this show had on anime designs.

Hopefully some new toys as well.

The look of the orig show was great, the actual show not so great.

RetroBlasting posted a funny video recently about the orig show and toys. Def worth looking up. Funny

They did a new version of Captain Scarlet a few years ago. It was pretty good but barely anybody saw it due to scheduling problems in the UK. Well worth a look and if the new Thunderbirds could match the production values, it might be good.....

True. I like what I've seen so far, updated but not ruined to the degree of the 2004 movie. I'm a bit concerned by how they are producing it though - CGI animation but with real miniatures for the vehicles. It'll either be genius or a disaster.

If the plane actually made, It could fly because Kawamori-san every time considers aerodynamics in designing VFs.

So did the VF-1 and the others.

I watched the show yesterday. And Kawamori-san was talking about the plane after the episode was over.

interesting looking design! ^_^

The "S" stands for "shadow."
According to the interview, he said like those below.
---
He was ordered that basically the S is for some stealth duties; intrudes the enemy areas, flies fast and it has a tight turning ability.
The other Thunderbirds machines are not only something real but those ones also have their own characteristics. And he designed the S concidering about it.
At a beside view of it, its nose looks like that of a Kiwi bird. He designed it referring to its bill and head as the motifs.
