marthf1 Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 (edited) You simply must show or tell us about how they compare to each other. The VF-4's lives depend on it! Hmm, I'd also pay extra for some Kurisama service. I can assemble things but stuff encompassing paints & such are a bit beyond me. Edited March 9, 2013 by marthf1 Quote
Kurisama Posted March 9, 2013 Author Posted March 9, 2013 Excellent work, buddy! Offering painting service now? If yes, I would like to have two sets from you. Thank you! I'll let you know how it goes when I finish with mine. See how streamlined I can get it. My heads came in today. Picked up all three versions! Nice! How do you find them? Please be careful when handling the fd and fud around the guns. Quote
Kurisama Posted March 19, 2013 Author Posted March 19, 2013 Small update, just needs a couple of coats of clear to seal in the decals and give it all the same sheen (green visor is currently drying separately with a high gloss, to be inserted as the final step); I've been at this stage for nearly a week and a half... too humid to spray the clear coats Quote
gwfalcon Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 nicely done, my friend. Cant image how cool it will be. Quote
Smut Peddler Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Awesome stuff, probably my favorite 1/60 mod. Quote
Mommar Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Brave man disassembling that thing. I really like how you marked it up. Please take many, many close ups once it's reassembled so we can get an idea what it looks like up close. Quote
valhary Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 I received mine excellent work like always Kurisama 've considered doing the "S" head type for the yf 29? Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 beautiful, can't wait to see it assembled. Quote
Scyla Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 This looks great. I curious how shapeways parts feel like. Your head looks really smooth. Does it come this way or do you have to sand it down a lot? Just have experience with the HP DesignJet 3D printers. What I don't like are the sliver accents on the head. from the pictures it seems they are the only parts on the plane that have this color. Black or white accents would work much better imho but that are personal preferences I guess. Quote
anubis20 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Painted this one for a friend of mine. I dont have a 4G Quote
Kurisama Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Anubis20 - great work! So strange seeing my model 'out there' I also happened to finish my build today, unfortunately there are some areas where the clear coat had some weird cracking - i was too impatient between coats maybe, but oh well. Please enjoy the pics! Quote
gwfalcon Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) Excellent work! Just a small question, it seems that both the helmet and the face of the custom 4G head are a bit smaller than those of the original one. Is it my wrong impression? Edited March 28, 2013 by gwfalcon Quote
Kurisama Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Which part do u mean? The face or the cowl? Quote
Mommar Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) Wow, that VF-4 looks like an m-effing bruiser. You have officially sold me on this head design. Really amazing custom paint job and markings too. Are those Scorpion's water slide decals? Kurisama did say the head seemed smaller and looking at the pics it seems like both are a little bit smaller than the original... that could be a perception thing and not actually the case however.Really, I can't stop looking at this thing. TAKE MORE PICTURES! Seriously, I think this is the definitive scheme for the VF-4. Better than the FB2012 scheme even. Also, how does the paint hold up during transformation? Edited March 28, 2013 by Mommar Quote
valhary Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I feel the same the head looks smaller but is only the perception that giving the design maybe the faceplate should be oversized but not sure if this would affect the fighter mode anyway what I see is that the male head feels much more agressive and the yamato´s the female version Quote
Mommar Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Now I'm going to wind up paying $500 for a third VF-4 just so I can modify it with this head. It'll be the commander model to my other two wing men. Quote
anubis20 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Great job Anubis! Thanks i went for the paint scheme shown in the shapeways page. Quote
Mommar Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 VF-4K_zz_00.jpg My buddy Kev says it looks like that 11B is about to give up it's lunch money. Quote
