Kicker773 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 What page is the instruction for sending payment again? Quote
mslz22 Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41638&hl=monstar You can really make payments any way you want, the installment idea was just to spread the payments out for those who found it convenient. thanks mike Quote
DarkArchon3000 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 This kit looks Amazing! Third payment sent today. Quote
Wasabi-san Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Had an epiphany regarding some sort of WWII-style nose art for this...Monster. Poisonous spiders! It would be a perfect homage to Mr Mike. Something like: "Ms. Arachnia" or "The Black Widow" etc. Some Petty or Vargas pin-up girl in a black dress or lingerie with accoutrements like little red hourglass bows on her black stockings, or a big red bow on the back of her black dress. Any thoughts? "Frank's Pet" or "Frankenstein" just doesn't seem as cool...big, green, HWR Monster... Quote
mslz22 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 First kit shipped, even with the rotocasting and attempts to save weight, this thing is still 16lbs packed up!!! More leaving soon. thanks BTW love the idea of spider nose art, i will run it by my buddy Jason who is doing the art! Quote
wmkjr Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Are all the kits for this run taken? I would like to purchase one if possible if there are any remaining. Quote
mslz22 Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 Still available, I will get back to any PM's soon, just wanted to wait until they were rolling out. mike Quote
Wasabi-san Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Mike, I could draw something up for you if you'd like. It would be an honor to do something in return for all of your hard work. Lemme know. (Edit:) Would you want something in anime style, or "real-type?" I can do either. 8"x10" color, then scaled to decal level? Edited November 12, 2014 by Wasabi-san Quote
Major Tom Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) Just got this package today. First impression is ... It's freaking big!!! check for all the parts. Very good casting with lots of details. You can see rivets up close. Needing minor clean up on a few small flashes. Amazingly light on major parts done by hollow casting ........ Well done. I'll let the pictures do the talking..... (with small gashapon monster and takatoku 1/240 monster for size reference) Edited November 16, 2014 by Major Tom Quote
Spitfire_BR Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) oh boy, oh boy !!!! Still need to send 3# payment plus shipping, can't wait !!! ( could you show to us the instructions ? ) Edited November 16, 2014 by Spitfire_BR Quote
mslz22 Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 Thanks for posting the first delivery pics. There will be a build thread with instructions fairly soon, I am anxious to get mine put together after all these years of waiting to finish this.... thanks mike Quote
MechTech Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Looks awesome! Congrats on another great kit-MT Quote
Wasabi-san Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Picked mine up yesterday. As soon as I got home, the box was opened and parts were laid out on the coffee table. BIG! It took a little bit to figure out were everything goes (guess I didn't know the design as well as I thought). It even includes "eye" pieces. The wife walked in to see me on the floor with models, toys, and the Perfect Memory book spread about, trying to put everything in the "exploded view." She then asked; "WHERE are you going to put that?!" I replied; "Not in the closet." She rolled her eyes. Two questions though: Where do the three, flat, angled, "forked" pieces go? Are they the hinges on the rear hatches for the howitzers? Were the range finders/sensors on the front of the arms and on the sides of the main hull part of the kit, or do those need to be scratch-built? (Items #54 in the 1/200 Bandai kit) Impressed as usual. Thanks for all of your effort. Quote
neko_fr Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 wow! very impressive!! I'm eager to get mine, just have to send the third payment (plus shipping, of course...) Quote
Kicker773 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Got mine, but haven't opened it yet. Need some "me time" or when the wife steps out so I can sneak it into the Macross Room.. LOL Quote
Kaldar5 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Can't wait to see some properly scaled 1/72 dioramas with regular 1/72 Valks. So rare to see pics of Glaugs and Monsters properly scaled with Valks. People never realize how friggin big they are.And if you are attempting to "sneak in" a 1/72 Monster without your wife noticing... um... that might not be the best plan. Quote
neko_fr Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Lol My wife will be mad! i forgot to say :third payment already sent, but I need to know the shipping fees. I want this one so bad! :-) Quote
g0nk Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Any word on decals and instructions for this Monster? Some of us are less intuitive than others.. Quote
mslz22 Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Instructions will start sometime after the 1rst of the year, waiting on the decal file. Sorry for the lag in response, kids have been sick for 2 weeks (one after the other), and now are home for almost 2 weeks for the holiday, amazing how fast a month can get diced up. mike Quote
neko_fr Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Hi! just a word to say thank you!! The beast has arrived! And just on January 7th, for my birthday. It's monstruosly awesome!! My neighbour almost called the cop, as she was hearing strange voices and maniachal laughs ;-) I don't have enough words to say my joyce. ... And sorry if there is any bad english Quote
spanner Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Has anyone who bought one of these kits completed assembly and painting as yet? Would be great to see the final result! Quote
mslz22 Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 decal art and sizing are done, waiting for a test sheet to give the OK to do the full print run. Instructions are delayed just a little bit for a variety of reasons, bad weather is really impacting me at the moment, mostly around lost productivity on all fronts, lots of time home with the kids with no working. Quote
GMK Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Mine arrived today - sadly can't unpack it until the weekend. Huge, heavy box. Really excited about this one! Quote
Jasonc Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Sorry, haven't put up pics of my package yet. Got it, but haven't really looked at all the pieces due to moving. Will do it probably tomorrow. Quote
Jasonc Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 (edited) Here it is, in all unsuitable glory. This is one helluva kit. Sorry if the pic is too large.i'm using a cell phone. Edited February 17, 2015 by Jasonc Quote
Steve71 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Amazing! Are there any kits left for purchase? Quote
mslz22 Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Still available, PM me, but i am taking about a 2 week break from casting while i wait for better weather. Nothing like a record breaking cold winter to take the wind out of your casting sails if you know what i mean. Quote
mslz22 Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Decals are at the printers, don't have a solid ETA yet but they are there! Also i will be sending everyone, along with the decals, castings of the vents that go on the side of the body. Went to get ready to paint the body and realized that something was missing. I could not cast those into the body because of the rotocasting, likely would have bubbles in those. So left them off then just forgot about them! mike Quote
Kicker773 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Can't wait... these are free right for the ones that got them already? Quote
