modelglue Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Here is to hoping you have a full recovery from your spider bite. They can be nasty little buggars, sneaking up on you in your sleep! Quote
vsim Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Glad they figured it out, I hope you feel 100% soon! Quote
Petrov27 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So glad to hear that they found the problem and can address it - hope you feel well soon! Quote
Spitfire_BR Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 great news you're going to be fine ! ( and after all you can say to everyone it's a shame wasn't a radioactive spider... ) Get well soon ! Quote
mslz22 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 Other than a few stray scratches that need fixing, main body is ready for molds. That has been a long time coming and right now (assuming the mold comes out ok) is a big relief to have finshed. thanks mike Quote
edstuff Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Wait, is that the final piece of the puzzle? I can't wait to see a finished photo Quote
mslz22 Posted September 28, 2014 Author Posted September 28, 2014 as far as the main scratchbuilding, yep pretty much done, just tweaks and little bits on stuff. I hope to have all the molds up in about a week and a half. In the meantime i have been casting leg and arm parts every chance i get. thanks mike Quote
mslz22 Posted October 4, 2014 Author Posted October 4, 2014 Even building the mold box as close to the pattern as is safe, this is a massive mold, more expensive than i care to think about. that is a full size spray can in there. Almost 100% done on the pattern, art for the decals is being worked on by my buddy Jason Eaton and will be sent off to JT as soon as i can. thanks mike Quote
Spitfire_BR Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 oh boy, this baby's HUGE ! I really needs a new house ! Quote
edstuff Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I can't wait til people start posting their painted pictures Quote
neko_fr Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 (edited) Wow! This is litterally insane Amazing work! Happy to see that you recovered from your illness (I'm a little late, but I didn't saw that) Payment sent (first one) Edited October 5, 2014 by neko_fr Quote
Wasabi-san Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 "Do you know what this means?! It means", I'm going to have to allocate another couple of storage bins to store this...thing...this...MONSTER in! I already have two stuffed and labeled "The Salzo Collection", which has the 1:48 Glaug, 1:48 Regult, 1:24 Valk, 1:55 VF-1D Conversion. Can't wait to see it in me little grubby hands. What's next, Mike? Glad you're doing better, mate. Quote
mslz22 Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 Bodies and arms are in production out of the rotocaster now. The body even rotocast is still almost 2lbs of material, it's partially foam filled for rigidity. I only have 3 or 4 molds left to do, so this thing is just about done and ready for full production. I will PM everyone on the list soon, but in the meantime anyone on the payment plan can feel free to send payment for the arm installment. Should be in full swing by the end of the month if not sooner. thanks mike Quote
Shawn Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but at the MWCon this year, Tenjin was very impressed with the one that was on display. He said he wanted one! Quote
spanner Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 I always wanted a HWR-00 MKII in 1/60 but this 1/72 is still gonna be friggin HUGE!! to the point where you probably wouldn't notice it out of scale next to a VF-1! Quote
mslz22 Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 Hey Guys, just saw this..... .http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41800&page=1 So i will be only doing mine for those that have already contacted me. If you want to opt out of my kit please let me know, and i will be happy to send back any deposits made. I only have 2 or 3 quick molds to make then i will be done. I'll wrap mine up in quick order and shelf it. Thanks for everyone's support, mike Quote
wmkjr Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Bummers. Wish I could build models. I would get one of these in a heartbeat. Thank you for all your hard work. Looks like I'm gonna have to live with the soft vinyl one being made in that thread. Quote
g0nk Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I'm still in!! I'd rather have a kit I can put together myself than a static vinyl figure. I also would rather support fellow modelers as well!! Quote
Spitfire_BR Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I'm with you Mike, first because i know your job and you doesn't produce models but state-of-art model. And if the price will be the same i prefer an resin model, even one weighting 1 or 2 tons... Keep the machine working ! Quote
mslz22 Posted October 24, 2014 Author Posted October 24, 2014 Great, thanks for the support guys, just to be clear it will be available to those here who want it. I am just not going to extend the run out indefinitely, limited until theirs is available. I had a couple of other 1/72nd kits i wanted to get working on, but if there is a new game in town for that stuff i will need to think about heading back to 1/48 stuff. Quote
wmkjr Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Would it still be possible to sign me up? I would rather support a member who put a lot of time and effort into the project. Quote
DarkArchon3000 Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I'm still in. Been waiting for this one for a while and it looks awesome! Quote
Major Tom Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Hey Mike, thanks for continuing with the production. I'm still in for this one. Quote
neko_fr Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Hi! I'm a little late (as usual ;-) ), but I'd like to say that I'm still with you. Quote
Wasabi-san Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 I'm still in for one... maybe two, depending on price. Let me know please. Quote
mslz22 Posted October 31, 2014 Author Posted October 31, 2014 Thanks again guys, the molds are pretty much done, that meaning that everything has at least 1 mold, some stuff needs multiple molds because the kit requires like 2 or 4, but those are easy as it's just setting the mold box back up and pouring rubber. That means, barring any more unforeseen delays, this will be in production next week. Decal art is still in the works, and i may need to send decals out at a later date if i can't get them printed quickly. I have been casting legs, bodies, arms etc a lot and the parts are staring to pile up, so i will want to start shipping pretty quickly! thanks again mike Quote
g0nk Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Thanks for the update mike! i'm waiting like a 4 year old at xmas! Quote
mslz22 Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 Yep, everything is up and running, pics of the very first full kit. Only thing not in the picture is the plastic cannon barrels, they will be included just need to run and grab some. These will start shipping in the next few days. This thing is massive, check out the size compared to a full size spray can... thanks mike Quote
Spitfire_BR Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 WOW !!!! WOW !!! WOW !!!!!!!! payment sent today, just can't wait to have this baby in my hands !!! Quote
