Scyla Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 True. I also tried to find some screenshots of the YF-30 schemes but didn't find much. I don't know how hard it is to make screenshots from a PS3 but if someone can supply us with more images just do it. I really would love to see more of the YF-30. Quote
NightCastle Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) I would like to add to chorus of "Please take some more screenshots of the YF-30 and post them". Edited March 12, 2013 by NightCastle Quote
Chronocidal Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'd love to take some pics of it to share, but yeah.. how do you take screenshots on the ps3? Quote
Edi Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 If you press the PS button along with the home button it will take a screenshot. But not all games support it though. Quote
Archer Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Aren't the PS button and the home button the same thing? Or am I just really dumb? Quote
Edi Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Whoops, I meant PS button and start button. My bad! Quote
Jasonc Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 See, you learn sumptin' new e'ryday. Now, from taking the screenshot from the PS3, do you have to go on mwf to post it up from the PS3? Quote
Archer Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Whoops, I meant PS button and start button. My bad! Lol, no worries man, it just got my mind thinking that's all. Good to know I didn't miss a button after 7 years with a PS3 Quote
Chronocidal Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Yeah, no go. Looks like the only way we're getting screenshots is if we sit in front of the tv with a camera. I'll see if I can take some good pics this weekend. Quote
Archer Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I think you can do screen captures with one of those capture cards right? But yeah, most people don't own one of those (unless you do Youtube gaming commentary or reviews or something), and taking a camera pic is probably easier Either way, since this is a different transformation from the VF-25, I'm excited. Hoping to see more legitimate pics soon... Quote
Dio Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I'd like to reserve my spot in the inevitable group buy, please Quote
Chronocidal Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I wish this could be a group buy. Will likely wind up being the usual 2 minute purchase window where every site we know of chokes due to the mass traffic. Quote
SaitouSad Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 You know.. even though it's a pain to do so, I'd gladly pay for a Tamashii Web Exclusive of the YF-30. If it means we could even get the damn thing at all.. Quote
xrentonx Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Same here. There are plenty of proxy buyers out there so I'd be all for Bandai doing nothing but web exclusives if this is how it's gonna be. Quote
CoreyD Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Didn't someone say this was going to be a kit? You all really think it'll be the usual pre-order rush for a model kit? Quote
xrentonx Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 I'm not aware if it has been confirmed either way. Quote
s001 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 It transforms differently as far as I can tell. Yeah but it looks the same. Quote
Mommar Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Yeah but it looks the same. It shares some similarities but I don't believe it looks the same. I much prefer the look of this Battroid to the 25/29 series. Quote
Duymon Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I definitely prefer the look of the YF-30 to the VF-25. The transformation in Macross 30 looks really cool too, keeping the pilot upright the whole time like in the VF-4. I hope this is a web exclusive so that I can order multiples, one for each mode Quote
Chronocidal Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 The only downside to this one is that giant bulky missile pod. Aside from that, it looks really similar to the SV-51. Nose folds under the cockpit and backwards, the legs seem to actually stay in place while the pelvis rotates down, meaning we might have a full-on waist joint. The arms seem kind of unnecessarily complicated though. They lay along side the legs like the SV-51, but that angled fin-shaped panel on the forearm is actually a piece of the underside of the wing. There's a few folding panels that open up, and the arms bury themselves in the wing root. Quote
Zentrandude Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 interesting. im curious on the ruggedness of the V-stabs Quote
Graham Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I have a nasty feeling this is going to end up not being made Graham Quote
EXO Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'm not aware if it has been confirmed either way. Nope... no one ever said anything about it being a kit or a toy. It was just on display. Quote
Vic Mancini Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 You guys are all wrong. It looks like it was inspired by the J-20 more than the T-50 or YF-23. Quote
VF5SS Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 You guys are all wrong. It looks like it was inspired by the J-20 more than the T-50 or YF-23. No you're wrong. Kawamori is smitten with Sukhoi. Quote
raptormesh Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 No you're wrong. Kawamori is smitten with Sukhoi. Yeah it's a T-50 with canards. The J-20 looks a lot less elegant. Quote

valid Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I don't know as much about planes than some people here but even I can see that is no J-20. Plus the J20 is ugly as sin. agree... it just big black... and ugly...t 50 is more suited for yf 30 Quote
Vic Mancini Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) The extreme perspectives of the 3/4 concept art view makes the wings look more delta than they actually are, I suppose. I'll concede that. But, I still see more in common with the silhouette of the J-20. I really don't see any T-50 in it. The delta wing + canards, narrow fuselage, and lack of tailerons are more common to the J-20. Edited March 28, 2013 by Vic Mancini Quote
Duymon Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Honestly, who cares. It looks cool *runs away* Quote
Mommar Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 It's a combination of the two. Those little flaps might look like they're from the J-20 but if you fill in the gaps on the front end of the wings up to those flaps and the backs of the wings you're pretty much going to see the body of the T-50. Even the width of the feet thrusters is the same as the T-50. The rear stabilizers look like they're taken from the J-20, but even still they're significantly wider, more like the J-20 Quote
Scyla Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I feel the same way. With a shorter nose cone and filled gaps between the canards and the wings you pretty much have the T-50. The J-20 has a very stretched fuselage (especially in the jet engine part) that you don't find on the YF-30 in my opinion. Quote
Chronocidal Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I dunno about real aircraft, to me it's just an SV-51 with delta wings. On multiple levels even. The way it transforms is extremely similar, the shoulder covers just got blended into the main wing, and covered up with a bunch of little opening flaps. I'm still waiting to hear more about it, but I'd be okay with a kit instead of some blink-and-you-miss-it DX release. Battroid just doesn't do it for me because of the giant box hanging over its head. Quote

I don't know why so many guys are say it looks like T-50... T-50 at least has the tailplane... Quote
