YF-29 Durandal Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Is that pod detachable I wonder. It's a part of the YF-30 when it's in fighter mode so I think not. Quote
raptormesh Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 If that's the case I hope it can be stowed in Battroid mode because it looks really silly from some angles. Quote
YF-29 Durandal Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) If that's the case I hope it can be stowed in Battroid mode because it looks really silly from some angles. In battroid mode as in fighter mode it will be folded in to become part of the rear body... look back a few pages of this thread and you will see what I mean. Marcion Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 hope that thing is diecast, it be suck if is fragile. Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Maybe it can be folded in to the back wing area like in fighter mode? Quote
ErikElvis Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Whoa I think it looks great. And I really like the shape of the lower legs. Quote
Scyla Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) In battroid mode as in fighter mode it will be folded in to become part of the rear body... look back a few pages of this thread and you will see what I mean. It can stay attached to the mount in all three modes and transformation. Kawamori showed it in the Lego model transformation. But the Chronos can theoretical equip different weapon bay layouts (i.e. stuff like the beam gun or dare I say a giant speaker pod ). If it is detachable the Bandai might sell different layouts as an add-on set because the YF-30 doesn't has a Super Parts. On the other hand it might be beneficial if it can detach nevertheless. Even if the piece is very lightweight I might be more comfortable to take it off during transformation because the leverage of this piece alone might stress the joints when dangling around in a way that make them break. Which leads us to.... hope that thing is diecast, it be suck if is fragile. I hope it is not. the weapon bay sits at an angle where any die-cast content might wear the joints down. I hope it is as lightweight as possible. It would be nice if the mount of the weapon bay can be locked into place with a support strut (like the back of the Renewal VF-25s) so that it takes weight away from the joints. In this image it looks like the missile hatches can open to reveal missiles which is pretty cool It also looks like it has all the markings from the game. They where missing in the CAD images. Can someone read the sign in front of the toy? It looks awesome from that angle. The wings don't look that bad but I would really wish that Kawamori made the tail fins to slide up. On the other hand maybe the Battroid-Mode loses all maneuverability if the tail fins have now room to move. Edited November 2, 2013 by Scyla Quote
Newtype78 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Is it strange that the legs are what appeal to me the most about the YF-30? I just love the more classic looking VF-1-ish lower leg look. Quote
Scyla Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 That is not strange. Some people like legs others the chest. There is no right and wrong what is appealing on a wo... *cough* I mean a Valkyrie! Quote
wmkjr Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Still hoping the tailfins folds the other way too like in the game. Maybe it's a compromise. Quote
xrentonx Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Is it strange that the legs are what appeal to me the most about the YF-30? I just love the more classic looking VF-1-ish lower leg look. Nah. I'm a leg man myself and the thread finally delivers! Lovin these pics but I need more Quote
Newtype78 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Good to know I'm not the only one, haha. Now I have ZZ Top's "Legs" song stuck in my head! Onto more serious matters... I like the idea of the weapon bay for the YF-30, though I'm not a fan of its look in Battroid mode. However, I've learned in the past that the best way to judge a figure is to have it in hand. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I'd like to see it standing without the stand in a neutral stance or a dynamic pose where it's not hunched forward. Why no fighter pictures, that's the only mode everyone cares about. Quote
anime52k8 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I want this so bad, in every mode. so sexy. Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Why no official pics Bandai! Why you no want my money? Quote

Guest Virtual8 Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) Looks so amazing and kind of interesting as well there. Edited November 6, 2013 by Virtual8 Quote
typhoon Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Love the detail, opening missile hatches on the pod....very cool. I'm not a massive fan of the "over head" weapon system, but it certainly adds some serious fire power without adding any super packs. Quote
Mommar Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 It's hard to see the wings popping off the back but otherwise I really to like the way this Battroid mode looks. Quote
Scyla Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I think Battroid looks only good in certain angles. In the CAD pictures we saw earlier it has very strange proportions when viewed directly from the side. It looks like the letter "H". That said you don't have to display it so you can see it from the side. I certainly won't. Quote
Scream Man Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 She's looking great! Looking forward to getting her. Watch as it coems out in April and we all run out of money with this and the 19. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 i'm sure fans of the game are used to it but i need more time to get used to battroid (looks busy), i will stare at the pictures for a week. Quote
Mommar Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 i'm sure fans of the game are used to it but i need more time to get used to battroid (looks busy), i will stare at the pictures for a week. Really? Other than the missiles over the head (and possibly the wings on the back) I feel like this is one really holds together as a whole more in the vein of the VF-1. Quote
wolfx Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Just realised the markings are very similar to the VF-171EX Alto custom. Anyway not a fan of the Regult-like missile pod. Doesn't look aerodynamic at all. Quote
Swooshiex Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 i hope that they remove the weapons bay at the top in the VF-30. it just looks too weird to me. i like just about everything else in the YF-30. or at least that should be removable like the sound boosters for the Fire Valkyrie. Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 The first time I've ever heard mecha fans complaining about too much, to big stylized weaponry. Quote
raptormesh Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Get ready for more, I hated VF-27's big gun too and thought the macross cannon is a ludicrous plot device. Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 The missile pod makes more sense than Brera's sniper rifle. Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I'm really digging it. Isn't the missile pod also supposed to be swappable with other options like a beam cannon or am I misremembering? Quote
wmkjr Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Any Japanese speakers? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suCsM0t3jYE watch @ 2:00-2:29 mark and see what he says about the cannon. Was he saying something about pivoting the system front to back for the beam cannon or was he joking around? Quote
