Chronocidal Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 (edited) Considering how many times we've seen this exact same error, I think it's just that the people running the quality control don't know how to read English characters well enough to know there's anything wrong. It's not like the parts are even symmetrical, they just flat out put the markings on backwards. I think the first time this was brought up was the leg armors of the tornado parts, and there's really no ambiguity at all which way those should face. Edited May 5, 2016 by Chronocidal Quote

General Rasp Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I was watching a YF-30 go up on ebay this morning that was $400 just to see if it sold at that price. It sold at $400 the same night and I had the question, Is the YF-30 worth that much or did the person have too much money and really wanted it? I know they are hard to come by but that is double the price it was released at. Quote

If you like that design there's only one option these days. It's pretty good, for the most part, though it's not perfect transformation. Regardless, if you like and want that design and $400 is the cheapest you can find it then probably it's worth it to whoever bought it. Quote
Duymon Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Man I wish they had done the alternate schemes on the webstore to milk the mold. That Decepticon one was awesome Quote
aurance Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I had two QC issues. One of the tail fins tends to come off when I rotate it, and one of the shoulder clips was broken out of the box. Luckily that swing joint is really stiff and so stays in place without the clip. Quote
Actar Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Okay... I am deeply regretting not getting this when it came out. Is it worth paying upwards of 40,000 yen to get it now? (-.-) Quote

(-.-) At that price range, it's more a question of if you really want it. Right now, the price mark of that one even in yahoo japan auction is around Y35000+. Quote

I had no knowledge it appeared in the game, but once i knew it was canon that sealed the deal even more. My 30 comes with a history to me as it was delivered wrongly to someone else who opened it. Luckily the courier got it back to me the next day. Dont think compensation would cover the cost of it today... Quote
Lolicon Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 So glad I bought three of them back in the day. Quote
Sandman Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 (edited) Yeah it's ripe for a re-release. Or maybe a different color scheme. And while we're at it how about some new pods to swap out the default one. Edited August 7, 2016 by Sandman Quote
arbit Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 So glad I bought three of them back in the day. I really regret not getting this. The 31s are not doing it for me. Quote
Bub Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Glad I was able to get 2 earlier this year... 20,000 yen each. Quote
Old Man Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I picked one up about a year ago for around $200...the box was a little beat up, but still sealed. Quote
UN Spacy Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 It'll get reissued eventually...just gotta wait it out. Quote
F360 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Now that Bandai is focus on Delta, I would not put any bets on a reissue of the YF-30 since it's only source material is from the Macross 30 game. Quote
OptionZero Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 (edited) Funny this thread got bumped, i had recently pulled my YF30 out of storage to fiddle with it in anticipation of the VF-31J preorder It's a good design, and the VF-31J just dumps a shitload more features and refinement (hopefully) into it The panels that cover the hands in fighter mode is the most awkward part of the 30, but the 31 designs smooths it out Edited August 8, 2016 by OptionZero Quote

Im just not so keen on the new rear undercarriage design.. but I guess im not so fussed as I simply wont display it with gear extended. Easy! Quote
Chronocidal Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I'd love if we could get a YF-30 model kit and make a kitbash of the two designs. VF-31 overall, but with the YF-30's legs and spine/pod connection. My only real gripe with the YF-30 was always the tails though.. they just kinda suck all around (and around, and around.. ). Would love to see it reworked to use the 31's tails. Quote

Though i'd like to see a variant that move the tail wings to the back of the legs. Edited August 19, 2016 by Sandman Quote
dangocns Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 (edited) Hey guys, Can I fit YF-30 hardpoint by missiles in 1/72 Bandai Super Parts Set for VF-1 ?? Has anyone tried yet? Edited August 20, 2016 by dangocns Quote
Chronocidal Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I'd guess it's very unlikely? The main attachment on the Bandai hardpoints seems to be the pylons clipping in, with the pegs not really serving as much support. With a little work to the pylons, you might be able to get those weapons to peg in (and they might stay reasonably well with just the pegs even), but I don't know how difficult it would be, or how much reshaping it would take to get the pylons to clip securely. Quote
Garfinkel Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I like it as an idea, i am going to pick up a set and give it a try. If it dosen't work i am sure i will find a use the the missiles elsewhere down the line. I also had a look at the Hasegawa set which is very similar. The attachment points for the pylons to the wings wouldn't work at all. Quote
ULessa Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 Probably not going to be a reissue in the foreseeable future till most of Delta rolls out. A recolor would be pretty interesting to see but that probably wont happen just yet. I thought I bought 4 but found 1 more LOL Quote
no3Ljm Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 For those who still wants a DX YF-30 Chronos. It's STILL available at Nippon-Yasan for a whopping Y52000. Quote

F360 Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 why the increased demand for DX YF-30, is it mostly due to Macross DELTA? Quote
aurance Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 why the increased demand for DX YF-30, is it mostly due to Macross DELTA? Increased demand? Naw, it's just supply has been steadily dwindling with commensurate price increase. Quote
no3Ljm Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Even on YJA, it's still commands the same price range. From Y40000 and up. And that's bidding price btw. There's one selling it for Y30000. Good luck! Quote
Impreszive Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 I managed to snag this one, mostly for the fighter mode. I saw on the leg that it says Seigfreid. It took me a moment to realize that that delta winged valk in the Delta anime might be this one. Man. I am so behind on the times. Best Valk pickup though..... Quote
Sildani Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Eh, sort of. The YF-30 is a prototype that was used as the basis of the less expensive, less capable VF-31A Kairos. The Kairos, in turn, was used as the foundation of the more capable VF-31C/F/J/S Siegfried. And why Siegfried? It ties in to the Wagnerian method of naming things in this series, what with Walküre and all. I don't think the reason for the name has been explained. *does Seto Kaiba Summon* Quote
Raptor One Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 (edited) Maybe by this point Leon Sakaki is viewed as a legend so they decided to name the customized version of the VF that was developed from the prototype he flew after his callsign? Then again, naming your homebrewed custom valk after someone who pilots for a rival PMC? Seems iffy Edited September 1, 2016 by Raptor One Quote
no3Ljm Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Or it's a tribute for Aisha Blanchette for creating/designing the foundation for the VF-31. Quote
Sildani Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Or it's Kawamori on his Wagner kick deciding they didn't get enough mileage off of the Siegfried name in Macross 30. Quote
