sbantonelli Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I am looking for a detailed Armored Valkyrie kit, preferably in the 1/100, 1/72, 1/60 scale. I was thinking getting one of these conversion kits: https://www.rinkya.com/new/en/auction-u43436365 http://www.e2046.com/product/6744 Are their any recommendations or does anyone know of a better kit? Thanks. Quote
Benson13 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I like it. Never seen it before. I dig the aggressiveness of it. Looking forward to your build. Quote
vt102 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Those look like they are garage kits for the hasegawa kits. I have one that I will build one of these days. Check my kits gallery for pics. Quote
coronadlux Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 That would be awesome. I would build a 1/72 scale. I don't have room for a 1/48 scale. Quote
peter Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Woah, never seen this kit before. Looks good, incredible detail. Post pictures when you build it. Quote
sbantonelli Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 This topics been covered before and both kits are probably just recasts of a NeoGrade kit. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=28656 Maybe I'll bid for the one on Rinkya and hope it's not. Quote
PetarB Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I've always loved the lack of compromise of this design. You want ordnance, you got it! Quote

Both are indeed recasts. This kit was originally released by NEOgrade of Korea. it was out of production for a long time already. Quote
Valk009 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I still have a few kits left from my 1/60 Thunder Hummer kit for the same scale Yamato made VF-1 version 2.0 valkyrie. Pic shows a completed kit done by one of our talented members here on the forum! Quote
azrhino Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Someone here did a conversion some time ago using the Hasegawa battroid and the Arii Armored Valk for the armor bits. There was this topic http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=14522&hl=%20arii%20%20armored%20%20valkyrie&st=0 but I know there was a build tread by someone that actually showed the work done. sbantonelli Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Wow, the Thunder Hammer is amazing! It's an incredible design. How much is the conversion kit? As for the Armored Valkyrie, kit bashing or scratch building, is just a little to ambitious for right now. (I have at least a dozen kits I need to finish.) Besides, if I was going to build anything, it would be a Mospeada Tread. Quote
ahiachris Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Mine is still in the making Edited December 20, 2012 by ahiachris Quote
EXO Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Nice! you can mod it for the upcoming bandai kit too. Quote
cool8or Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Do you remember mine? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=30325 Quote
vt102 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Worse case.... you could buy a 1/100 or a 1/72 Bandai one from Ebay. Those will be easier to get. OR.... I may sell mine.... for the right price. But it won't be cheap. Quote
coronadlux Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Mine is still in the making Awesome work in progress. Do you use mainly styreen? Quote
sbantonelli Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Yeah ahiachris, great work! How do you get the round edges on the knees, legs, and arms? I don't think I could make parts that where so symmetric. I can't wait to see it finished. Thanks for the offer vt102. I have a kit lined up, but will contact you if it falls through. Cool8or, your work is top notch, absolutely incredible. Thanks for sharing because my search had missed your page. Quote

MechTech Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Cool8or and ahiachris's work is awesome! You guys did/are doing a great job! Ahiachris, what are you using besides styrene? There's some yellowish mixed in with it? - MT Quote
ahiachris Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 Ahiachris, what are you using besides styrene? There's some yellowish mixed in with it? - MT The yellowish mix is a kind of japanese epoxy putty called Mori Mori. It's now release by Wave. It's almost odourless compared with other kind of epoxy putty. The grain is very fine and they also have another kind of epoxy putty called sube sube. It's the same kind of yellowish mix you see in japanese hobby magazines. Quote
MechTech Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Thanks! I might give it a shot. - MT Quote
