mister_e Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 This is how the new vf-1 A/S/J sticker sheet will look: It will be in production tomorrow and will be ready in 10 days aprox. Hey taka, awesome work. I'm getting my first 1/48 (VF-1S Hikaru) for Christmas and I plan to order some of your stickers. I am also planning to get a VF-1J w/FP soon after. Just one question: where's the big kite symbol for the VF-1J FAST packs? Quote
Mechamaniac Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 If these are for the Yamato 1/48... Why the louver cover stickers????? Yamato has these down pat, especially on the 1/48. Quote
NeoverseOmega Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Actually, I think the idea of the louver stickers is to allow you to keep the engine covers off in battroid mode and still see those classic grey intakes. Quote
NeoverseOmega Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 By the way- THAT STICKA SHEET'S DA BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Draykov Posted December 10, 2003 Author Posted December 10, 2003 Just one question: where's the big kite symbol for the VF-1J FAST packs? Why, with the FAST pack armor stickers, of course. Great work, Erick! Quote
Hurin Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Actually, I think the idea of the louver stickers is to allow you to keep the engine covers off in battroid mode and still see those classic grey intakes. My understanding is that the stickers for the intakes are intended to simulate what the intake covers look like when folded up and lying against the top of the intake as they do when in fighter/gerwalk mode. I think they are provided so that you don't have to touch your Yamato stickers at all. Which, of course, is a good idea. You don't want to have to mix and match. . . and you can keep your Yamato ones mint. Best Regards, H Quote
Drad Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 I'd like to know how the rest of you managed to get the cockpit instrument panel stickers on. Those things would end up being incredibly thin and prone to tearing after cutting them out. Toothpicks? Tweezers? Did you disassemble the fuselage? I haven't done my instrument panel yet. Quote

Göönk Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 how do you buy these gorgeous TAKATOY stickers? I don't really like the yamatos. They seem too large and too thick. Also, I was stupid, instead of leaving the original stickers in the mint conditions, I simply applied them. Ah sorry, I'm a newbie. So, where to buy the TAKATOYS? The guy doesnt even have a link to his website! Quote
Montarvillois Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 So, where to buy the TAKATOYS? The guy doesnt even have a link to his website! Wrong, Here's the link Takatoy website he also sells through twin moons anime Twin moons link Quote
baronv Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 And Takatoys ships fast as well. Big props. Quote

Just one question: where's the big kite symbol for the VF-1J FAST packs? (Now, are these stickers, or decals?) EDIT IN: Never mind... And do the intake cover ones actually fit inside the wells unlike the Yamato stickers? Either way, I'd love to get myself a set at some point. I like the alternate cockpit graphics choices. Hurin Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 (edited) They are stickers. They are not pre-cut. You need to cut them with a sharp hobby knife. I had to trim the intake stickers slightly. But it was no big deal. Though, this is a newer release of these stickers, so maybe he resized them (no need to though). I reviewed an earlier edition here. Edited December 10, 2003 by Hurin Quote
mister_e Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Anyone got a picture of how the intake stickers look once applied? I'd like to see how it looks...also, I'm not exactly sure how/where they should be applied. My guess is that they are applied to the top of the inside of the air-intakes. Quote
Hurin Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 That's correct, top-inside of intakes. Contrary to what I thought before applying them, they actually look pretty good up there, though they are rarely visible. H Quote
mister_e Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 Contrary to what I thought before applying them, they actually look pretty good up there, though they are rarely visible. Argh! No pictures? Now you're just taunting me j/k Quote
mechatek Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 Takatoys, you are da man. Thank you for releasing all of these different versions of your stickers to match (surpass is the word) Yamato's inferior originals. I'll definately be needing some sheets. Quote
Draykov Posted December 31, 2003 Author Posted December 31, 2003 Got an ETA on the latest batch Erick? Holidays catchin' up with you I take it? I'm looking forward to the latest offering from Takatoys. Quote
Montarvillois Posted December 31, 2003 Posted December 31, 2003 Just had word from Takatoy yesterday and he said there was a small delay in the production because he had to revise a few last minute details. He told me to hang on for about one more week... Just can't wait ! Quote
