the white drew carey Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Awesome AmeriMecha design! Quote
Knight26 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 ACtually that mech suit is based on current developments, though I imagine a fully operational version would probably have more armor on it Quote
electric indigo Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Hmm, it's Groundhog Day - in Space! Plot The story is told from the perspective of Keiji Kiriya, a new recruit in the United Defense Force which fights against the mysterious 'Mimics' which have laid siege to Earth. Keiji is killed on his first sortie, but through some inexplicable phenomenon wakes up having returned to the day before the battle, only to find himself caught in a time loop as his death and resurrection repeats time and time again. Keiji's skill as a soldier grows as he passes through each time loop in a desperate attempt to change his fate. Quote
mechaninac Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Wow, if that is the plot, than it's very much like Groundhog day... only with none of the charm and wit. Quote
Knight26 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 What is you replaced tom cruise with Bill Murray, instant win Quote
badboy00z Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 America! They should have made the whole star glow instead of a stupid rectangle... Quote
the white drew carey Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 ...though I imagine a fully operational version would probably have more armor on it Precisely. But even what is in development would probably be a bit more streamlined in its final form. This just looks loose and clunky. Quote
Old_Nash Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) They get Iron Man Mark1 from the Stark Industries. Edited November 11, 2012 by Old_Nash Quote
macrossnake Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 Looks like Tom Cruise in a Starship Troopers movie. Quote
the white drew carey Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 LOL! It does, doesn't it. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Hollywood sure does love Langley AFB's "FF" tailcode. I think every plane in every Marvel movie ever has had it---and now this. (though it's more like a "shouldercode") Quote

Duke Togo Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Can't beat the subtle phallic allusion: Looks like Mass Effect Quote
areaseven Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 Can't beat the subtle phallic allusion: Looks like Mass Effect And it looks like the film has a new title. Quote
Duke Togo Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 New title has been in place for a month. I just don't think anyone is paying attention just yet. Quote
taksraven Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 New title needs to be in the thread name. Prefer the original title though. Quote
mechaninac Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Exo-skeleton movie bandwagon begin Bring on The Knight Sabers... Quote
TehPW Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 hmm.... it is impressive but it's Tom i"m a FING retard. Maybe. Quote
skullmilitia Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 How dare you! They should have made him fly an F-14, that's the only way I can take him seriously. Lol Oh god, no Tom can't play Shin Kudo, move on optimistic Hollywood suit.. Move on! Quote
Knight26 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Maybe with better casting and a powered suit that didn't look like ass... The source material is interesting Quote
areaseven Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 Tom Cruise = bad movie. Tell me about it. I stopped watching Tom Cruise movies after The Last Samurai. Quote
Twoducks Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 "Groundhog day but with pew pew" looks interesting. At least I didn't laugh my ass off like i did with "I Frankenstein". Quote
Duke Togo Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Tell me about it. I stopped watching Tom Cruise movies after The Last Samurai. You missed out on Collateral, Tropic Thunder, and Jack Reacher. Quote
Knight26 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 (edited) Tropic Thunder is not a Tom Cruise movie, he is in it, but he is not the focus. Cruise can make some good movies, but I don't like what I see so far with this one. I mean why make an exoskeleton like that with no additional armor to protect the pilot. It's almost as bad as those stupid mechs in the Matrix sequels. Also, care chases, really why? Were the battles scenes not enough? Edited December 12, 2013 by Knight26 Quote
Duke Togo Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Tropic Thunder is not a Tom Cruise movie. He's the best thing in it, but he is not the focus. Fixed Quote
