charger69 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) Separate super parts set please!! P.S.: Looks like VF-27 is not a renewal ver. btw Edited October 25, 2012 by charger69 Quote
charger69 Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Is this the old mold? I think so, check the waist joints, they sit high like the old mold... Quote
antibiotictab Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 From tomorrow. I want to shoot the movie there. But I just checked the Tamashii Nation official web site, shooting movies and taking pictures are completely prohibited. Hmm. So stern. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 If bandai is doing a super parts set for the old mold VF-27, can we conclude there won't be a renewal version? Lame bandai, very lame. Quote
Mommar Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 If bandai is doing a super parts set for the old mold VF-27, can we conclude there won't be a renewal version? Lame bandai, very lame. Most of the people on this message board have claimed it didn't need one. Quote
Dimis Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Definitely the original version. The crotch is completely flat. And although i will buy the Super Parts if released separately, i think the baby purple makes the whole thing look a bit like a fabulous butterfly. Quote
3D-Brainx Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 This is not at all encouraging. First I thought "well, may be they are showing the super parts on the old mold because there is not renewal ready to show on" but if that is the case, then the super parts should fit on the new one, so, either they are not making one yet or the new one is very similar to the old one (to make the super parts fit). I know the 27 fixed a lot of the issues of the firsts 25's, but I don't think the super parts could be swapped just like that if they do a renewal. I mean, they should change something at least. Dobber Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I'd love to get the 27. The old mold wasn't bad IMO. Though I am a fighter mode guy and I think most of the issues where with Battroid mode. Chris Quote

I would say so two years ago. But remembering that the VF-25G Tornado Set was released just a few months ahead of the VF-25F Renewal, I am not so sure. Quote
MichaelS Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Now Bandai needs to release more of all there MF models these current prices suck to much!! Quote

But remembering that the VF-25G Tornado Set was released just a few months ahead of the VF-25F Renewal, I am not so sure. But the VF-25G renewal itself would still be a year and a half away. I don't know if it's any indication but the VF-27s at Yahoo Japan Auctions still sell for about 25000YEN. Perhaps the japanese people know something we don't! Quote
ErikElvis Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 The 27's plane mode is fine. Hip/ croch area / eehhh... not so good Quote
Kelsain Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 How hard would it be for them to rework the hip assembly, yet keep everything else the same? Or aftermarket, for that matter... Quote

valid Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 i don't care if it's an old mold.. i take it!!! i missed the previous issue Quote
Xigfrid Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Should it come with articulated finger hands and a new hip to assemble! Quote
zulu Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) Regarding the hip issue...is there a chance Bandai didn't use the old mold and that perhaps whoever transformed the 27 for the convention didn't do so properly? Edited October 25, 2012 by zulu Quote
Sandman Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 You know the hip placement didn't bug me at all until i saw this thread. Now it's annoying the hell out of me. i can't look at it without noticing it now. Quote
PsYcHoDyNaMiX Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) This is speculation, but knowing Bandai... they're going to release the superparts and then maybe about half a year later they will announce a VF-27 Renewal. Milking the fans for all they have. Like what they did with the tornado set then a few months later announcing the VF-25 Renewals. Edited October 25, 2012 by PsYcHoDyNaMiX Quote
3D-Brainx Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Now that the RFV-25 is announced (http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=37653) it would be plain stupid not to do the 27 renewal. I think the 27 is by far more popular than the rfv-25 Quote
Chronocidal Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Meh, show some fighter mode already, since that's what it'd stay in anyway. The VF-27 was a huge improvement over the original VF-25 fighter mode (I'd even say I actually prefer it to the model in fighter mode), but the improvements stopped there pretty much. You've still got the lame hip arrangement, and the joints that go limp as soggy cardboard. Not to mention, this was before they improved the mess of joints used in the shoulders like they did with the YF-29 and renewals. All in all, it's much better looking than the old VF-25, but it still suffered from most of the rest of the problems they had (flaky paint, limp joints, lousy crotch lock, etc.). At least it seems they're reissuing it though, so people who missed it the first time can get one. Quote
jvmacross Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 So is Bandai releasing super parts for this or some sort of combo set? Both? Quote
skullmilitia Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I'd be interested in this, as I'm not interested in paying the 4-500$ on ebay for this, but I think I'll wait for the inevitable renewal. Quote
UN Spacy Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I don't even think the VF-27 was fast pack ready? Is this an afterthought? Quote
Reïvaj Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I don't even think the VF-27 was fast pack ready? Is this an afterthought? Yeah, for the film. Probably to try to match the YF-29. Quote
Sandman Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) Good point. Super packs may be crappy if it's not implemented well. I doubt they knew ahead of time to incorporate it in the design unless this release has minor tweaks in the the mould (eg a couple extra attachment points) from the version already released. Could be the reason the super parts don't get sold separately. All conjecture at this point. Edited October 25, 2012 by Sandman Quote

But if they mold new parts to accommodate the super parts, why no just fix the hole thing (like the crotch area)?? I would be very mad if I get this and 3 months latter they announce the renewal version Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Awww... I was excited when I saw the thread title and was disappointed when I clicked. The old one still looks really chunky in battroid. Quote
eugimon Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 too bad it's not a new sculpt... the old v1 design really hasn't held up well. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Gerwalk mode has some limitations too. The VF-27 legs don't have as much forward movement at the knees like the renewals Quote
