Tochiro Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) New game project coming in 2013. Macross 30. Name is tentative. No details on game type or platform. Apparently Minmay is in it and the other characters 'meet' her somehow. All dialogue has already been recorded. UPDATE: ANN has the games tentative logo graphic: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-09-21/namco-bandai-games-to-release-macross-30-in-2013 Edited January 29, 2013 by azrael Quote
Keith Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 As usual, if it's not Atdink, not sure if want. Quote

Old_Nash Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 WTF!!!! Now yes, the world should not end! Quote
Loute Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 At last, I've been waiting for this for ages! Hope we'll have complete information soon, those far-too-short macross' games on PS3 couldn't stay "unfinished". I own a PS3 but I really hope this game will be cross-platform so that Xbox owners can for once, get a Macross title. Doesn't look like it's an Artdink but well, that's good news anyway, it's raining here and I'm off to work with a big smile on my face Quote

Yes that's totally going to happen with the way the 360 has failed miserably in Japan. Doesn't look like it's an Artdink but well, that's good news anyway, it's raining here and I'm off to work with a big smile on my face There's few companies I would trust to make a Macross game other than Artdink lately besides From Software. There have been countless developers for Gundam games and most of them have turned out to be horrible. Quote

Agreed, there will never be a Macross game on the 360 unfortunately. There's few companies I would trust to make a Macross game other than Artdink lately besides From Software. There have been countless developers for Gundam games and most of them have turned out to be horrible. I actually thought that the Sega/AM2 game controlled better than the Artdink ones. And after three games in the PSP series, I personally am more than ready for a new take on Macross in videogame form. Edited September 24, 2012 by Tochiro Quote
Raptor One Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I will purchase whatever console this is on as soon as it's released. Shame there are no new Macross PC games though Quote

Shame there are no new Macross PC games though Not to sound like a broken record but theres even less of a PC gaming scene in Japan than a 360. Telling someone you like PC games is the equivalent of saying you play hentai games all day and will get you some strange looks. VO was the exception to the rule and we will unlikely see the likes of it ever again Im afraid. Quote

I disagree, the sega game played a lot slower, and space orientation was a bit funky. The artdink engine is solid, dynamic, and fun. I see no reason to change a working formula. Quote
Omega579 Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 It would be funny if this wasn't an action game but a full on dating sim. Quote

I see no reason to change a working formula. No argument from me that it played slower. I liked it better that way. Certainly felt more in line with the speed of battles in SDFM IMO. But to each their own and all that. Quote
UN Spacy Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 This needs to be a total overhall from the Trial style of gameplay. I'm getting a little tired of it. Quote
Gian Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 (edited) I would be perfectly happy with just Macross Triangle Frontier with HD graphics. Edited September 28, 2012 by Gian Quote
Tochiro Posted September 28, 2012 Author Posted September 28, 2012 Heres the teaser trailer that was shown at TGS: Quote
Hikuro Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 I swear to god, if this is another one of those games like what we get on the PSP where it's all the timeline missions and the same thing AGAIN and AGAIN, I will end them. Quote
dizman Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 It would be funny if this wasn't an action game but a full on dating sim. After that preview this seems more likely Quote
Old_Nash Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Heres the teaser trailer that was shown at TGS: 0:27 DD Ivanov, Olga and Shin Together???? Quote

UN Spacy Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Sick of the repetitive missions. I agree. Quote
Omega579 Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 I hope the new game has some actual dogfighting and I hope they give each valkyrie configuration a specific function. It seems as though the PSP games consisted of A) get missile lock then B) circle around target and fire missiles until destroyed. They also need to get rid of the infinity ammo. Quote
YajimaTakashi Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 (edited) I noticed Misa was on the Bridge of the Quarter rather than the Macross. Edited October 2, 2012 by YajimaTakashi Quote
Old_Nash Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Who the hell is Olga. I was playing MGS 2 when I saw the teaser ^^"That's Nora, not Olga. Quote

Gundam SEED Battle Destiny already played with the idea of getting rid of infinite ammo. Not sure if like... Quote
Astralith Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I noticed Misa was on the Bridge of the Quarter rather than the Macross. You can tell that how? The chair? The background displays? Quote
Hikuro Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I'd say both. If you look at the background display, it looks like the Quarter's schematic. Quote

GMANIFESS Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 So what am i looking at? A new PS3 game that spans the entire Macross sagas that isn't an upgraded PSP port & is actually a full game not a sampler that is included on a blu ray? Quote
Hikuro Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Seems like nothing more than a PS3 version of the PSP titles, that's pretty lame. Hopefully those images are just the prototype and not what we'll actually get graphics wise cause those look horrible. Animated portions look nice, but the graphics are so PSone-ish. Quote
GMANIFESS Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 Yeah, that definately doesn't look high def or current Gen. I was just hoping it was just the low quality scans.... time will tell. Quote
Tochiro Posted October 24, 2012 Author Posted October 24, 2012 Anime News Network must have had access to a better scan- details! http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-10-24/macross-30-game-unites-multiple-macross-heroes-in-1-era Quote
