anime52k8 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 To quote one of the comments form the linked page: He looks miserable! Like he knows they just put a Batman head on an Iron Man cast and stood him on a Last Aibender prop. Quote
GU-11 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 To quote one of the comments form the linked page: I was just about to mention the same words you quoted. That expression looks like his head doesn't want to be stuck on that body. Quote
anime52k8 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 honestly, with the shiny finish and mechanical sculpt, it looks like a playarts kai. It's as if someone kit-bashed a batman figure out of a (hypothetical) playarts Iron Man. Quote
Greyryder Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 In other news; it was anounced to today that Stark Industries has filed suit against Wayne Technologies for patent violations. Honestly, if they'd made this look like the bat armor from the first Batman Vs. Predator, I'd be all over it. Quote
badboy00z Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I've always thought it would be cool if Batman had an Ironman like armor. Quote
southpaw Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 for that price it should have included a bruce wayne jim lee head since its base on his batman 52 design Quote
EXO Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I've always wondered why they never made a die cast body Iron man. Would be cool. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I like this version better: now with matte finish! I admit, the new 52 thing irked me, but I'm considering this toy to be my comic Batman centerpiece. Quote
GU-11 Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I agree. The matte finishing is a major improvement. Somehow, the shiny metal body just doesn't look right. Quote
xrentonx Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 I like the matte version a lot but I have too much on my plate already Quote
southpaw Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 I guess that answers Mr. Wayne's question... Quote
shazam Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) I still can't get past the cheesy gold utility belt and the useless but flamboyant cape to go on the Iron Man style armor. Bruce must need to bring his bling ALWAYS. I am biased in saying that I like the Medicom/Hot Toys version of Batman figures. Edited August 17, 2012 by shazam Quote
southpaw Posted August 17, 2012 Author Posted August 17, 2012 IMHO I think this batman will be more playable and poseable than any Hot Toys Batman. Without worrying about breaking a hand peg etc. Quote
xrentonx Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I like it for the novelty alone. It must feel nice and weighty with all that metal Quote
GU-11 Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 IMHO I think this batman will be more playable and poseable than any Hot Toys Batman. Without worrying about breaking a hand peg etc. The thing I hate the most about HT's Batman figures are the lack of leg articulation caused by the rubber suits, not to mention the potential wear and tear of the suits themselves. Hopefully, this new DX12 suit with the cloth undercoat will add some articulation to the fig. As for the super-alloy Batman, money is the only thing stopping me from buying the matte black version. That said, his grapplegun and utility belt look lame, and fake. And I don't mean that they look cartoonish...they actually look fake, like something made by an unskilled customizer. Quote
southpaw Posted August 30, 2012 Author Posted August 30, 2012 It wasn't until you mentioned that the belt look fake made me realize why the belt look to simple. Quote
Omegablue Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 For that price I expect more detail, and less of a cartoon sculpt. Quote
