Not bad, but there are other physical changes as well, especially to the cockpit and forward fuselage.

Yeah the shape of the EX is different on the cockpit and fuselage. At first I did not realize this until I was on macross mecha manual before the 171-EX released.

Not a bad modification, but I prefer the clear jewel look personally.
