Reïvaj Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I did see that coming... These toys seem to be meant for display. Quote
Reïvaj Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) Unfortunately, not everybody can have more than one for display in different modes. Edited November 27, 2012 by Reïvaj Quote
Drackie Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 This is an awesome piece..but the paint on the black parts can be easily scratch off..especially during transformation.. :(/> Much of the paint on the back of the valkyrie head had already been scratched off after 1 - 2 transformations.. :angry:/> extreme thanks, precisely tomorrow i was going to sell one, and needed to transform it in fighter again, thanks to your warning i keept without scratches the head, but it was very difficult, you´re right, the neck it´s really hard to go back to the fighter position, any kind of distraction there will scratch the back of the head, i´m not sure if i did it right because i don´t want to verify opening again ... haha another problem i´m seeing are the big die cast blocks of the shoulders, the plack paint of them is really easy to scratch while you are transforming it, if the wings aren´t as back as they can do, the pointy plastick scratch a little the black paint of the die cast. other observation is that seems really fragile... i had only the vf-25s renewal, but not the yf-29, and this one seems much more fragile in parts and paint, this one is hard to transform, is needed a lot of patience, attention and some luck to do it well but unless everything... i love it :3 Quote
chon1n Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Anyone know what is the color of paint/sharpie I can use to repair the black painted areas? It doesn't look like a dark black color to me.. Mine got scratched up quite badly..really wanted to repair it.. Quote
Loop Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I transformed my Alto scheme from fighter to batteroid, but I anticipated that the black on the 30th version would be an issue, so I left it in fighter mode. Quote
Kurisama Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I'm super careful and gentle when transforming all my valks, but with this one I've badly scraped the collar plate behind the fold quartz as when it closes up, the 2 plates scissor across each other. Also managed to scrape the black section behind the nose too, Quote

NightCastle Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Or you could color all of the dark area with a sharpie that way everything matches. Quote
chon1n Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hey guys..do you think the Tamiya XF-63 German Grey Match the black/grey paint on it? Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 You might want to try 35044 "Insignia Blue". (that blue is so dark that even in the summer sun, most people will swear it's black) Quote

David Hingtgen Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Just going off the pic he posted above---that's a quite bluish black in that lighting. Bandai has always had "off" plastic colors---their white is never "pure" nor are their blacks---they love to use "very dark blue" plastic in nearly every Gundam they make. They tend to use green-white or purple-white for "white". Quote
ErikElvis Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I imagine that would be a difficult color to match. I think a very very dark blue is prob better than the german grey. I have the thing downstairs but am to lazy to look at it. From the pic it does seem to have a tinge of blue in it. Quote
chon1n Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 You know what..I'm gonna bring the Valkyrie's head to the shop and choose the right paint from there..lol.. Quote
ErikElvis Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 haha oh yeah. If you can go straight to the shop that would be the thing to do. I thought you might be ordering off the net which would prob be near impossible to match. Quote
chon1n Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 one question..does yf-25g's blue paint get scrap off easily? Quote
Drackie Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 one question..does yf-25g's blue paint get scrap off easily? as far as i know 25g it´s white paint over blue plastic Quote

David Hingtgen Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 How's this? Tamiya XF17 Sea Blue Sea blue is basically the same color as insignia blue. Ever so slightly greyer IMHO. But they are very close. Quote
khyron_99 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I'm having problems transforming it back to fighter with the shoulders keep on popping out. Is there any video out there to transform the thing properly back to fighter? Quote

SuperHobo Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 If anyone's interested, I have an MIB YF-29 anniversary edition I'm willing to let go for $260 shipped. PM me if interested or with offers. Here's a pic of mine. Quote
SuperHobo Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Okay my 29 is sold and I hope she's treated with a lot of TLC. Quote
Dobber Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Well I didn't get the YF-29 after all. After waiting more than a week for my order to ship, I sent an email asking about the status of my order. Got an email last night saying that when they were preparing my order for shipping the Valk was not available anymore. They sent a refund for the item and its portion of the shipping. They also gave me a 10% off coupon for a new order. Bummer. Chris Quote

I wonder if it was your valk that they released. Quote

David Hingtgen Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 A Max or Milia version could be nice. (and they wouldn't look a day older than in M7) Hmmn, Mylene version.... Quote
