Renato Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Yes, it has a different title, though. It can be found as "Flashback 1984" on the Extras disc which came only with the Limited Edition set. Another thing I noticed is that while the TV edition had Aya "Sheryl" Endo doing the narration, the full-length version features Mika "Misa" Doi narrating. Quote

I'll eventually get around to buying it, but hopefully Thora will sub that documentary I really want to watch and understand it. Quote
Renato Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 It's legitimately online now at the Bandai Channel: http://www.b-ch.com/ttl/index.php?ttl_c=1104&mvc=3_25691_0_0 Quote

UN Spacy Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I just watched the 1 hour 10 minute Flashback 1984 special on the DYRL Blu-ray. It has a lot of the same footage...some new stuff (such as the construction of the 1/1 VF-25F). But it didn't have any of the 30th anniversary event tour. Is The Men Who Made Macross and Flashback 1984 supposed to be the same thing? Quote

I always had the impression before the Blu-ray release that the TV special was a cut-down version of what would be in "Flashback 1984". Quote
UN Spacy Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Yeah. It definitely wasn't in any of The Men Who Made Macross. Quote
isamu Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Any of version of this with English subs? Quote
isamu Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 All hail "Flashback 1984"!! Hopefully someone will fansub this one day. Quote
eevli Posted June 15, 2021 Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) I'm sharing "The Men Who Made Macross" with English subtitles soon. After that there will be a Spanish version based off of English subs. I hope it will be freely available in as many languages as possible. This TV only release is different than what's on the blu ray. Fan made and strictly for private use no profit. I'm just putting the finishing touches on it. More soon. Edited June 15, 2021 by eevli Quote
