eugimon Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 So, I was listening to Fire Bomber with my kid today. At first he was really into it, "This is a valkyrie song! I love valkyrie songs!" After three songs, he turns to me, "Have we been listening to the same song all this time? This is a really long song. I feel like I've heard this song so many times." Quote
ErikElvis Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Haha I once said the same thing about one of my brothers bands albums when I was younger. Quote
Benson13 Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 I guess I'm lucky that my daughter asks me to watch Macross with her. She doesn't like Sheryl Nome though. Quote
Kelsain Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 My daughter, while playing with the neighbor Renee, kept calling her Minmei. Close enough, I guess. (null) Quote
Bounty Hunter Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 haha, OP, that's hilarious. Exactly how I felt watching Macross 7 (and no not just the first 15 episodes where it actually was the same song). Quote
GMANIFESS Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 I burned a few CD's of Macross music to have some PG rated music in the jeep. One was some instrumentals mostly from DYRL & Zero, and the other was a sampling of various Sharon Apple & Sheryl. My 5 year old enjoys them both. He hums & sings along. He wasn't amused by Sheryl's music until he saw a few scenes & realized they were "battle songs". But his favorite by far is the original Japanese theme song for SDF. He sings "Mak-U-Rosss" all day.... Quote

GMANIFESS Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 You know.... Some Sharon Apple is not exactly PG.... Well every Sharon track on the CD is in mostly Japanese so yeah other then some sexy beats & sultry rifts... PG as far as im concerned... Quote

GMANIFESS Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Well compared to half the sexual crap on the radio & my other option of Wu-Tang CD's... Sharon Appple is still the safer bet. Regardless, Idol talk isnt on that disc anyway. I'm more worried about my son singing dumb sh*t like "IM SEXY AND I KNOW".... WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE...." Which he inadvertently got from that stupid M&M's commercial...... Quote

Good news is the song she likes daddy to play the most is Two Weeks by All That Remains. It's quite an interesting choice by a 4 year old. Edited June 18, 2012 by Benson13 Quote
Benson13 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Well, be careful, because... ! Great little menaces living down the road from me. I'm gonna have to keep a tight reign on my kiddo. Quote
GMANIFESS Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Yeah. I knew that song would be a problem. You just can't control what they get exposed too sometimes, but you have to regulate their reactions. That's parenting. Happy Belated Father's day to us.... Quote

Kelsain Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 (edited) I'm sure we've all had the same plan. I know I did. Has anyone successfully lobbied their SO's on this? Edited July 4, 2012 by Kelsain Quote
ps99042 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I just made a onesie for my 4 month old daughter! Starting her young. Quote
