Keith Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Guys, I count on you to keep me up to date on these things, and you're seriously dropping the ball. First Tron Uprising, and now this! Quote
electric indigo Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 This will be the one "video game adaption that does not suck" movie. Quote
mass driver Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I saw this trailer yesterday. I thought it was hilarious. My childhood is basically in that Bad guys anonymous meeting. Zangief, M Bison, Kano, Pac Man ghosts, Dr Robotnik. Great stuff. This pushes all the right buttons. Quote

Keith Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 Hmm.... when was Zangief ever a bad guy? Street Fighter The Movie? Also in that meeting, was that one of the robots from Berzerk? Quote

UN Spacy Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 BTW, watch the trailer on Disney.com and you can wreck it with Ralph afterwards http://disney.go.com/wreck-it-ralph/ Quote
David Hingtgen Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Scott Pilgrim had Final Fantasy and Zelda references though, so... PS----amazingly MISSED opportunity to have Jennifer Hale do a voice. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Who on Earth fantasizes about Jane Lynch in a Samus costume?? Cruel headmistress at an all-girl academy maybe.... but definatly not Samus. Quote

Funkenstein Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 She looked like FemShep from Mass Effect. Not really Samus aside from what looked like a gun-arm. Quote
Twoducks Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 BTW, watch the trailer on Disney.com and you can wreck it with Ralph afterwards http://disney.go.com/wreck-it-ralph/ You can see Chun-li in on of the pics of the gallery. Quote
Jefuemon Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 For some reason, they're calling it "Sugar Rush" in Japan. Still would like to see it, though. Quote
Funkenstein Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 The Sugar Rush portion of the movie is basically half the movie. So calling it Sugar Rush isn't that much of a stretch. Quote
Keith Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 Things get stupidly renamed when they're brought over from Japan all the time, it's about time we shared the love Quote
Mr March Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Reviews are great. Slashfilm has a glowing review. http://www.slashfilm.com/wreck-it-ralph-review-one-of-the-best-video-game-movies-of-all-time/ I'm going to see it Saturday. Very much looking forward to it. Quote
areaseven Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 What an amazing movie for something that's not Pixar. Wreck-It Ralph is one big love letter to all generations of video gamers, especially those who grew up with '80s titles such as Q-Bert, Tapper and RoadBlasters. Strangely enough, there's no sign of Tron here. On a side note, Paperman - the opening feature - is a masterpiece itself. Quote
Axelay Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 My wife thought that I was nuts when I kept on spotting cameos for things. Absolutely loved the Konami code. If you look carefully at the graffiti in one of the train terminals, you'll see "Sheng Long was here." Gonna have to watch it again to continue spotting more things. Quote
TehPW Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Cruel headmistress at an all-girl academy maybe.... but definatly not Samus. Wow. is that the plot for a typical Lesbian Pr0no?definately have to plan sometime to bring the minions to see this movie this month... Edited November 5, 2012 by TehPW Quote
VF-15 Banshee Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 The Sugar Rush portion of the movie is basically half the movie. So calling it Sugar Rush isn't that much of a stretch. And maybe 'cause the the AKB48 song used in the end credits of both the english and Japanese versions is called Sugar Rush? Quote
Omegablue Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Was there anything Metal Gear Solid in it? Quote
areaseven Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Was there anything Metal Gear Solid in it? Yes, but only for a couple of seconds. Quote
areaseven Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) Might as well park this here... Edited November 6, 2012 by areaseven Quote
Axelay Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Was there anything Metal Gear Solid in it? Hell yes there was, and even though it was only for a split second, it was one of my favorite moments of the whole movie. I almost screamed in delight. Quote
VF-15 Banshee Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Extra large exclamation marks anyone? BWAHAHAHA!! Quote

mass driver Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Saw the film this Sunday with the wife and was pleasantly surprised. I had hoped the film spent more time poking fun at older games as I thought the sugar rush sequence was far too long. Still a good film for the kids, and enough video game references to keep old geeks happy. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Hell yes there was, and even though it was only for a split second, it was one of my favorite moments of the whole movie. I almost screamed in delight. Yup, though I (sadly) think I was the only one in the theater who got it. Sugar Rush's theme song is amazingly addictive though. (it's not only in the end credits, it plays during your first good look at the game) And I want a Mylene cover version of it. PS----Jennifer Hale is in the credits. And they still didn't have FemShep?!!?! Quote
VF-15 Banshee Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 PS----Jennifer Hale is in the credits. And they still didn't have FemShep?!!?! Holy Krogans, who was she?! Quote
