DestroidsRage Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 I've seen lineart for the 8th MS Team Zaku Cannon all over the place, and I've seen The 8th Mobilesuit Team! I have the Bandai DVDs, and I cant remember /ever/ even glimpsing it! So Im a bit baffled. http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/08thmsteam/ms-06k.jpg Where in the OVA is it? -BEN-MAN- Quote
NERV Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 it looks very familiar, and ihavent looked at the lineart befroe so unless its in another gundam series, its probly in there somewhere Quote
DestroidsRage Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 Well, if you or anyone else can tell me where in which episode it appears in, I'll glady take as many screenshots as I can of it and post em here I still dont think its actually in there! -BEN-MAN- Quote
Sebastian Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 I had seen 8th MS TEam several times, and I really dont remember that mecha at all. Maybe it have a short screen Shot ALA Elintseeker? I think it is not there. Quote
Pat S Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 Similar to the Xamel from 0083, but nope. Quote
bob joe mac Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 hmmmm now I may be wrong cause I haven't seen the show in over 2 years but isn't it shown right after the 08th parachute down and that one dude attacks with his tanks? But I know I saw it in Z gundam. Quote
Dat Pinche Haro! Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 i've seen it before....forgot what ova and what part but i remember seeing it before....remember elador and (ahh...for got that one guys name!) steal it or somethin? i don't remember clearly...i'll get back to you on that ASAP Quote
DestroidsRage Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 8th Mobilesuit Team sucks for one reason only... Rear Admiral Yuri Kellanays death. Throughout most of the episodes you grow to like his character, and you start to realise how bloody awesome the Zeon can be - Then Ginias blows him away in a tunnel. How freaking crap is that? He was by far the coolest character in that OVA. And I looked through every bloody episode again... The 8th MS Team Style Zaku Cannon is /not in this ova/. Please proove me wrong! But I dont bloody see it. -BEN-MAN- Quote
Hybridchild Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 (edited) Ive just started watching 08th MS Team thanks for the spoiler ,probably my fault for looking in the thread though Hybridchild Edited December 6, 2003 by Hybridchild Quote
Lynx7725 Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 It's in one of the earlier episodes (somewhere around 3 or 4 I think), when they are attacking a Zeon-held position. Note that this isn't really a "Mobile Suit".. because if I remember some discussion over this, it's actually half a Mobile Suit built into a base... Quote
ArchVile Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 Yeah, episode 3 I believe, it's on the first DVD. Quote

DestroidsRage Posted December 6, 2003 Author Posted December 6, 2003 Huh! Your right! It is in episode 3! Man this Mobile Suit is awesome In order of appearance: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/po...-1070754305.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/po...-1070754414.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/po...-1070754446.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/po...-1070754330.jpg http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/po...-1070754371.jpg And why wouldnt it be a mobilesuit? Its not built into the mountain. Im not exactly sure why it doesnt have legs, or if it can move around under its own power, but yah. -BEN-MAN- Quote
Lightning Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 remember, by then the Zekes were starting to not have replacement parts like the Feddies did, so they probably just didnt have the leg parts to the Zaku Quote
DestroidsRage Posted December 7, 2003 Author Posted December 7, 2003 I dont think its that. If you look at the lineart I posted at the top of this thread.. Its like it does have some soft of legs. I dunno what they are. Stabilization things maybe? Hover fans? No idea. It definitely doesnt seem like it was built to have legs though. Besides, that base in episode 3 was pretty well run, it didnt seem to be decrepit at all. So I doubt its that they didnt have legs to put on it. -BEN-MAN- Quote
Skippy438 Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 It's probably just in a dug out hole. The Zaku cannons you fight in Rise from the Ashes on the DC fire at you while dug in and then jump out and fight melee when you get close Quote
ArchVile Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 looks like that thing would be beam rifle fodder just sitting there. Quote
Commander McBride Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 I dont think its that. If you look at the lineart I posted at the top of this thread.. Its like it does have some soft of legs. motley Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 (edited) its probably that it was more stable without the legs. the cannon is shell firing, and the story goes that zeon never really figured out how to correct for the recall. parking it with the rest of the fixed defences makes a lot of sense. and since the zaku cannon was designed as an anti-air unit, its just about as useful fixed as it is running around in the jungle, especially against tanks and feddie MS. i'd also say its a fixed unit just because of those cables running into the open cockpit, that's not normal at all. Vostok 7 Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 Pfft. Zaku II Gunner pwn3z j00z. http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/secretwea...kuii-gunner.jpg + http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/secretwea...xamelcannon.jpg Yeah, that's a Zaku II with a Xamel Cannon. *swoon* Vostok 7 Quote
DestroidsRage Posted December 7, 2003 Author Posted December 7, 2003 The cables arent going into the cockpit. Or at least, it doesnt look that way. And I dont think its a fixed emplacement. Look at the linart! Its got something /instead of legs/ it looks like. Weird stabilization legs or something. Liket he kind Mobile Guns put down to suppress recoil better. Either way, I dont think the cables have anything to do with the cockpit. Also, is that a little window in the upper chest? LOL! And I think this is the coolest zaku ever. Ever. Its a lot cooler than that Zaku II Gunner Vostok This things SO bulky!! Its like a mobile battleship cannon! Plus, I reallyyy dig the colors. -BEN-MAN- Quote
Commander McBride Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 Forget both of them. The Xamel is the coolest MS ever. And also the cooles MSiA. Quote
Jolly Rogers Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 i'd also say its a fixed unit just because of those cables running into the open cockpit, that's not normal at all. The cables running into the cockpit is a standard feature for the Zaku Cannon. Quote
Vostok 7 Posted December 7, 2003 Posted December 7, 2003 Forget both of them. The Xamel is the coolest MS ever. And also the cooles MSiA. I'll agree... I heart the Xamel. Vostok 7 Quote
