Chthonic Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Ok, This is a Second Commission work that East Coast Cannuck did for me. This is another obscure Valkyrie and I wanted them to have some recognotation. He has done an awesome job of bringing the design to life. There's going to be more in the future. Keep your ears to the ground. Quote
neoexcaliber Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I demand an animation featuring these valks! What's next on your list? Maybe some Zentraedi mechas for your valks to blow up? Quote
Benson13 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 That head makes me think of the offspring of a naughty Armored Core head and a dirty dirty VF-1A. Quote
Talos Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Excellent work there. I would have done a few shapes slight differently (mostly the nose), but I like it! Makes me want to go back and finish my VF-5000 profile. Quote
Zinjo Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 (edited) Very nice, though you might want to ask CC to add a pilot figure. Just a generic figure with matt black texturing to give the silhouette of a pilot without going to all the trouble to detail it. The several renders I had the privilege to work with in my composites didn't have pilots and that was tricky to deal with. I opted to use the metallic reflection usually seen on the F-22 Raptor to hide the empty seat or I'd cut an existing picture of a pilot into the cockpit area. For it to look right it took some of time and patience. That could be avoided with these renders if a pilot silhouette were added. Something to consider. Though if you want obscure, a VF-14 is about as obscure as they come ... Edited June 10, 2012 by Zinjo Quote

Actually that is the next one -but there are two different versions of it -not a lot of refernce on that one too Edited June 10, 2012 by Chthonic Quote

Chthonic Posted June 10, 2012 Author Posted June 10, 2012 Funny, I've actually been sketching out some drawings for the Macross 7 PLUS one the last few days, trying to work out a clean profile design for it... Actually and I think I speak for a lot of people. I would love to see more reference for the obscure valks - 3D work, profiles, etc...it's the 30th anniversry. Macross has come a mighty LOOONG way. We as the fans have shown much love and appreication to the genre. I've been wanting to throw my contribution in the mix and this was the best way that I could think of. Ever since the accident, my modeling skills have deminished. I thought this was the best way to inspire. Quote

Ever since the accident, my modeling skills have deminished. I thought this was the best way to inspire. Yeah, I would too, that's why I've been doing them. Eventually I would like to have a complete set of profiles for all the different models, even things obscure like the various VF-14s, the VF-5000T-G, VF-11MAXL (not Mylene's), etc. That's most of what's on my desk right now in paper form. Fz-109F/A, which I'm doing for Mr March. The Macross 7 PLUS version of the VF-14 is coming out of that effort, since it's basically the same. The VF-9, since I've had a profile of that in the works for ages, a redo of my VF-19E/F/P/S, and a secret project or two. It's only recently that I got back to paper sketching after years and years of computer-only. I forgot how much easier sketching is like this. Keep up with your project, though. It's definitely been inspiring me! Quote
paramat Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 This VF-5000B is much appreciated, thanks for sharing the pictures. Good to hear the VF-14 may be coming .. a favourite of mine. Quote
paramat Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 The new transformation animation is here http://eastcoastcanuck.deviantart.com/art/VF5000-conversions-317711208?q=gallery%3Aeastcoastcanuck&qo=1 These animations are excellent, yes. Quote
Mommar Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Man, I really like that Gerwalk mode. It's like a hybrid of the VF-1 and VF-11. Quote
Zinjo Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) Man, I really like that Gerwalk mode. It's like a hybrid of the VF-1 and VF-11. Actually it is one of the most popular (in universe) immediate successors to the VF-1 and the predecessor to the vF-11 so it comes by the distinction honestly... Edited August 27, 2012 by Zinjo Quote
