I don't own a DSLR at the moment, but I'm happy with my Canon PowerShot SX230 HS. Here are some pics I took at Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam last year:

Just got a Canon Eos Kiss X50 Double Zoom kit. Still playing with it, but I like it.

Go Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters!

From where we were sitting, no zoom

Nice shots man, what lens did you used on those?

thanks, child's play compared to your shots but I'll take any compliments I can. :p

The boats I took with a tamron POS something something and the aquarium shots were with a NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G handheld.

I asked my wife if it was taboo to take that last shot, and she said it was OK, if you don't mind seeing ghosts in your photo.

Got a question-----any suggestions for a camera for someone techology-inept? As in, for my mom. (it'll be too late for a Mother's day gift, but she would like one before she goes on her next trip) Basically, it needs to have 2 buttons:

On/off, and "take picture". Also, "pressing the button half-way to focus, then all the way to snap the shot" is a BAD thing---she will never ever master that. Any digicams that DON'T have their shutter button operate that way? It basically needs to have an ultra-super-fast autofocus---because otherwise she'll miss every shot, asking why it didn't take the picture when she pressed the button down.

An iPhone 4S perhaps?

A Nikon S3300 or a S2600...Maybe even a S100?

A Canon A2300? ELPH 110 HS?

A Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH-6? DMC-S2?

BTW, if this gonna be "Everything Photography" at least geek it up and list the camera model you use to take the pic. And if you're using a DSLR, you should be listing at least the model and lens you used to take the pic.

Just WOW!

Alot of people are using the sony NEXs line of cameras. Most of the tourists here that visit Vegas are rocking one so it must be easy to operate those cameras.

From yesterday. Got Invited to join a shoot for fun and learn from a pro. Gears used:

Canon 5d Mk III + 70-200mm F2.8 L lens, processed in LR4 and PS CS5

A Canon A2300?

This was on my list of ones to check out, so next time I'm at BestBuy etc I'll definitely take a close look.

Anyways, the 2 best night shots I got with my Canon S3IS:

Nice setup you got there. Youre pretty much covered on all focal lenghts.

thanks!

trying to keep my NAS from spiraling out of control. tho i reckon i still want a nice dedicated macro-lens to complete my set and still am lusting after the D800.

it's really a good thing that most Nikkors and stuff are almost always both out-of-stock and prohibitively expensive.

all wants, never really an actual need. :D

awesome nightscapes vegas!

checked the EXIF and was quite surprised at the relatively large apertures you were using. curious on your rationale -- noise control, or perhaps to avoid starbursts?

Wow, some really professional shots

Canon T2i 18-55 which I hate and 70-300 USM IS. These are raw so a bit washed out From my trip out west

Thank you! The reason behind that is i didnt want the shutter speed to go over 30 seconds which is the max of my camera to get a right exposure but opted to compensate with the aperture. I did not bother to raise the ISO.
