Macross Postcards - Macross 15th Anniversary

Not exactly sure what item or promo these postcards were tied to...if anyone knows feel free to chime in...

The interesting thing about this group of postcards is that one of them clearly ties a well known Valkyrie illustration piece to Masami Watanabe...he is the mostly unknown SDFM/DYRL era illustrator who not too many Macross fans can name, but are surely familiar with his art....IMO, he is the 3rd old school illustrator from the SDFM/DYRL era than includes Takani and Suzuki...hopefully we will get a nice illustration book with all of his artwork someday....

Hey @jvmacross! I don't want to create a new thread nor not sure where to post this.

I just want to ask is this some kind of clear postcard that was sold to previous events back in February? If it is, do you have one? It looks cool.

never seen it before...I think it may be a fan-made item...perhaps a limited licensed release at one of the shows.....I can try to find more info on it...but I agree with Tenjin's post...I would be flipping the dang thing over and over again like some 3 year old with a pop-up book! lol

@Shawn you seen this one in your searches for Macross rarities?

Yeah. It looks cool. I like how the wing hides in Battroid mode too. :good:

Thanks JVM! :drinks:

I'm sure we have some papercrafters here who can look at the video and see how it "transforms" to easily duplicate it....maybe even improve it!

I concur that it's a fan-made item, as I can't see any logos or other markings on it, along with the ruff-cuts on the edges of the clear plastic.

Don't have Twit-ter or whatever it's called these days.....but can the original video be traced to where or who originally posted the clip?

Maybe it would provide some idea of what show that may have been recorded from?

本業雑貨デザイナーなんですけど、これはめちゃくちゃ声出た。すごすぎる。

I'm a miscellaneous goods designer by trade, but this really hit home with me. too amazing.

Does this mean he is not the creator of these "pop-up" creations?  If so, you are getting close! :search:
