Tochiro Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 This will make a nice counterpart to my overpriced Japanese box set! http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-04-02/discotek-announces-dvd-release-of-captain-harlock-tv-series Quote
Keith Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 This will make a nice counterpart to my overpriced Japanese box set! http://www.animenews...rlock-tv-series Excellent, if this does well enough, they're sure to release the remastered Arcadia of My Youth. Also of note for anyone who doesn't know, another company licensed the complete Galaxy Express 999 TV series for DVD release. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I think I'm going to run up and give a big tear filled bear hug to the guys running the Discotek booth this weekend at animeboston! I tried watching it on my computer, but I never could get comfortable or relax watching it. This release is one of those ones I'd never thought I'd see happen, but so desperately wanted. Keith I would also love to see a remastered Arcadia of my Youth, or perhaps even its follow up tv series (ssx?). Quote

I love AnimEigo, and I know they did the best with what they had to work with, but their Arcadia DVD is a travesty when viewed on an HD setup. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 It can be hard to watch even on regular def. when I do I have to crank up the brightness just to tell what's going on sometimes. Quote

Ditto, I remember watching it way back and loving the visuals, I then watched the DVD a couple years ago and everything was so dark and murky. Quote
Dynaman Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Just read that Discotek is coming out with a BluRay of Arcadia of my Youth. Please, Please, Please remaster the video... Quote
