typhoon Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Looks awesome! Just ordered one from amiami.... Quote
Scream Man Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Wait so this is close to $400 before shipping? Yeah, no. Ill wait for the release without the packs. Quote
usagiz Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Amiami already has a vacuum aimed at my wallet... URL: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-RBT-2445&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dvf-17d%24pagemax%3D100%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 Quote
Dutch Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) It looks beautiful, I might get one. But that price I'll probably have to sell some stuff to afford this one. Edited June 20, 2012 by Dutch Quote
Loop Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 What are you talking about this is Diamond Force. They even mention it's a companion piece to the VF-17S Diamond Force use toy. Quoted from Macross Mecha Manual: "The blue colors also became standard marking for members of Diamond Force and as such Docker, Physica, Dick and Morry all piloted VF-17D variable fighters painted with blue highlights." So are the stripes in the new pictures light blue? They look mighty white to me. Maybe these are not the final colors though, we do have until Oct to find out. It's not like I am not buying it or anything, I decided I will get one initially and see what happens. Quote
Loop Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Wait so this is close to $400 before shipping? Yeah, no. Ill wait for the release without the packs. It's actually around $320 or so at amiami. Quote
Negotiator Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) + the extra 40,000 yen they charge for ems. Hopping for a no fast pack version Edited June 20, 2012 by Negotiator Quote
Old Man Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Preorder up at HLJ. http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00235 Quote
Mommar Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 That's pretty much the price I estimated it would be with the Packs included. Somewhere between $320 and $340 based on what they always charged extra for VF-1's with Packs included. Quote
Lonewolf Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 With every new Yamato releases it seems the prices keep going up and up and up. I love their products, but this is getting out of my price range... Quote
ErikElvis Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 HLJ GO!!!!! I GOTTA PREORDER IN!!!! Oh wait its yamato... Quote
Froy Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Damn +50 bucks just for the fast packs? Yamato really needs to do something about the their prices. Quote
jvmacross Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 $320.90 at Otacute...plus no upfront payment required and plenty of shipping options.....I ordered/received a valk from them recently...giving them another shot with the VF-17D http://www.otacute.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_6&products_id=28680 Quote
pud333 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 The registered SAL option is awesome. It comes to me almost as fast as EMS. Quote
Valkyrie23 Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Does OtaCute lock in the price in US$ when you pre order? Also, via otacute, there's is almost a $82 price difference between the VF-17D and the VF-19F. Why is there such a large difference in price between the two other than fast packs? The VF-17 is on its second production run on that mold and the VF-19 is on its third run. Quote
funkymonkeyjavajunky Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 As much as I love the look of this toy...$300+ ?? Quote
Phalanix Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Interesting, Hobby Search is actually cheaper than AmiAmi for the 17 and 19 this time, and better points return value too. Quote
Old Man Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) I wish HLJ's price was closer to AmiAmi and Hobby Search, but I guess that's the price to pay for peace of mind if something goes wrong with these releases. Has anyone ever had experience with AmiAmi or Hobby Search's customer service? Are they as good as HLJ when it comes to replacement parts or item exchange? Edited June 20, 2012 by Old Man Quote
HG Blows Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 With every new Yamato releases it seems the prices keep going up and up and up. I love their products, but this is getting out of my price range... It's the exchange rates, if only it was 2006 again...*sigh* Quote
Mog Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Awesome pics, ff95gj! The stripe does look white to me too. I think I have the right blue hue to make it a Diamond Force bird if it does turn out to be white on the final product. . . . Or I could try pulling off a minor custom scheme again! So not sure if this was asked earlier but, are the missiles gonna be removeable from the leg armor? Quote
Macette Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Ugh this is the last valk to have 1 of each type for my mac 7 set. the price on the VF-17S has kept me away from it, but this one costs even more.... Quote
Phalanix Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I wish HLJ's price was closer to AmiAmi and Hobby Search, but I guess that's the price to pay for peace of mind if something goes wrong with these releases. Has anyone ever had experience with AmiAmi or Hobby Search's customer service? Are they as good as HLJ when it comes to replacement parts or item exchange? HS and AA are great, never had to replace anything though, but canceling quantities or existing orders aren't as easy as HLJ. You shouldn't have any problems with their service, I've been ordering all my recent valks from their due to the better pricing - every little bit helps! Quote
Old Man Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I'm just paranoid I'll end up with a broken Valk with no hope of a replacement, like the unfortunate situation with MacrossJunkie and his VF-19S. Quote
Phalanix Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 I wonder if Yamato will release a CF teal VF-17, I'd get that over the Diamond Force, since that means I won't have to get 3 to complete the set. LOL Quote
Tober Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Has it been announced if the fast packs going to be available separately for the VF-17S? Sorry if asked before. Quote
Mommar Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Has it been announced if the fast packs going to be available separately for the VF-17S? Sorry if asked before. I would say considering how rare it is they release something as ubiquitous as VF-1 Fast packs (they pretty much don't anymore) I wouldn't get your hopes up about a separate release for the 17. I'm 99.9% sure you're going to have to buy a D if you want them. Quote

Graham Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Really busy with work recently. Still reading the forums, just no time and no news to post. Graham Quote
Negotiator Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 anyone's point accumulation working from amiami? I still have 0 and I've ordered a couple valks from them within the year. Quote
UN Spacy Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Points are eligible if they're from orders placed on their new system (after December 20). It doesn't matter if you've ordered them, they need to be in stock, and (IIRC) it has to be 17 days after you've paid. Quote
