MacrossJunkie
Personally, aside from the obvious placement of the Diamond Force insignia and the UN Spacy kites, I took some inspiration from actual F-117's, which is where some of those stickers were derived from or taken straight off of. In addition, I looked at the scant few pics that can be seen of the VF-17 from the master file books for further reference.
Mommar
Funny, I looked at a lot of F-117A pics before I did my decals as well.

Scream Man
Mine is fine. i just ordered myself a 17D with FP's. Paid a bundle sadly. One day i hope to get a second so i have Diamond Force
DuffCon
Love my 17s, paid 150-ish shipped on eBay. Great example of the peak of Yamato engineering; metal ankles and great articulated hands. Didn't like the ton of stickers at first, but after seeing examples of other schemes, it inspired me to do mine. I'll post it up when I'm done. Scream Man
150?! You lucky bastard I paid a crap tonne more than that!
DuffCon
150?! You lucky bastard I paid a crap tonne more than that! Yeah, it was about as much from HKC (959 HK$) with shipping. But this was a U.S. seller so it was much faster
Loop
Scream, maybe he got the standalone and not the gift set that includes the FP's? I would think there might be a difference in pricing, I have not checked though.
wmkjr
I think it was $140-ish for the 17S and $260-ish before shipping for the 17D+ FP set at HK but the 17S sold out recently. Edited January 4, 2015 by wmkjr
Loop
My bad, for some reason I thought we were talking the 17D with FP vs without.
wmkjr
It's funny though the reg 17D vs super set is like $16 difference. And my bad. The 17S was $120-ish. Was thinking of getting that and the super parts. Would've saved $100 bucks vs the D. I don't mind the looks and color differences. DuffCon
Correct, this was just the 17s. The price was compareable to HKC. I didn't know they'd sold out; also sold out of the 19k recently.
Scream Man
oh ok, yeah the 17S is much cheaper. Unfortunately I want the D's to have a full D Force, so I'm stuck paying all of the monies. Unless someone out there is good enough to sell me one cheap?
Loop
Yeah you got to get the double DD's to complete diamond force. I did it upon release of the D variants, I got the gift sets that came with the FP's
Scream Man
That's what I have coming now. Might afford another one in a year if I'm lucky.

valkryenov
its 17d, so it is worthy? It's a very nice price for a D especially if it's the FP bundled one.
ChaoticYeti
its 17d, so it is worthy? Other than the fact it could be bundled with the fast packs if it is a D, the only difference between the S and the D are the color of the stripe and the design of the head. DSC_0007.jpg It is pretty intricate for how beefy it is, isn't it? I know in-universe the 171 was intended to be a more streamlined version of the 17. That accounts for some of the size difference. They are both 1/60-ish.
ArchieNov
Yamato's 17, 19, 21/22 series do not scale properly in battroid mode. They're either too tall or too short when placed side by side with each other or their other 1/60 valks like the VF-1. In fighter mode, they look okay together. Ever since the YF-29, Bandai's 1/60-ish valks all scale almost perfectly well with each other in all modes.
