The Navy Midshipmen are going to be wearing uniforms that honor the various Jolly Rogers squadrons that have existed over the years for their Army-Navy game.

I'm not a football fan, but that's cool!

Love the helmet, and I would totally buy a jersey with "FOKKER" on the back.

The football is great as well, wouldn’t mind that on a shelf

I checked the team store and it doesn't look like they have the footballs in stock yet, but they do have the jerseys and the hoodies with the Jolly Rogers skull and crossbones insignia and their motto.

Darn, no customization options.

Five will get you ten that's a prop for an upcoming movie.

That design raises a lot of questions.  E.g.: the thrust vectoring plates: why are the top plates jagged (= stealthy), and the bottom plates square (= not stealthy)?

And then there is this:

Quote

Doubts of viability of aircraft

In November 2024, AVIC released footage of a mockup of the “integrated space-air fighter”, which it claims will be capable of dropping "munitions from space".  Critics have noted that such claims of space operations capability lack evidence and are "dubious".

Makes one wonder if the whole thing is a mistranslation of what the aircraft really is—like, as renegadeleader1 said, a movie prop—or we are seeing a masterclass in misdirection.

That's a fictional 1:1 model. Something about AVIC being China's air force engineering division or something, and they've created a bunch of sci-fi scenarios to entice the public into getting into the field. This is one, with the fictional story of the aircraft being that aliens invade in 2050 and this is the sixth-gen superfighter that can stand up to them... or something like that. Apparently this whole endeavor is very well-known in China, but AVIC was more than willing to let foreign press come to their own conclusions across language barriers about the model, which is where we get the false reporting that China was showing off a prototype real-life sixth-gen air/space fighter capable of Mach 5, laser weaponry, and all other sorts of nonsense.

Thanks for the clarification, that makes a whole lot more sense that all the other explanations.

Lol. Sounds about right. Or the stealth platypus.

Definitely looks movie quality, along with the stupid name.

I will say, that from the side, the lines come together in a sleek profile.

That thing looked like a cross between the X-32 and whatever the hell that thing in the movie Stealth was.  Although, i suppose the side view is more forgiving.  White Emperor huh?  They couldn't think of any better name at all?  That's just stupid.  They could've just called it the Big Ugly Fat F***  China Style.

Just bumping a bit to keep thread findable.  Maybe "post your fave pic you've taken"?   This is probably mine:

This was not taken by me but it is probably my favorite aeronautical image of all time:

IMG_3070.webp.5c16fa7414512e092a709c636c24e7ba.webp

I wonder if there is a way to get a high resolution version of that image. I would love to have a large, high quality poster of it on my wall (framed and all).

One that I‘ve taken is probably this one because it was my "lifelong" (given the plane was introduced in 2005 and I‘m much older than that) dream of mine to fly on an A380.;)IMG_0776.jpeg.8fff59da1f85d2081fcc7be348cb7c5b.jpeg
