Valkyrie Hunter D Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 I'm still down for one, if it was that dark colored one I saw a while back. Not this light purply thingy. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 There a few more pics of the Bellerophon (as well as some 1/6 eye candy) on this site from a recent exhibit. Quote
Dio Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Pricing seems about on par with Bandai DX Valkyries, I'll need to see more before committing but definitely interested. The story for the franchise seems to have some potential as well, and the name is straight up 80's retro. Quote
Twoducks Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I wish they get to make the centaur and flying addons. There a few more pics of the Bellerophon (as well as some 1/6 eye candy) on this site from a recent exhibit. Wow, that is one dangerous link for the wallet. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Wow, that is one dangerous link for the wallet. QFT!!! Quote
DarrinG Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 It is a cool looking piece, although I know nothing about the series. Agree that a dark color would be better over a violet war machine . . . Quote
Scyla Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) A review for the first figure are up. Peaugh: CollectionDX Edited February 6, 2015 by Scyla Quote
xrentonx Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) I love the fact that the little poseable figure can sit inside the opening cockpit. Sadly I might not preorder this because there are new Valks announced. I talked myself out of it ("Design has too many ovals!") Edited February 8, 2015 by xrentonx Quote
DarrinG Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Didn't watch the review entirely but its an amazing piece. How cool would it be to dream up a mech and get it made into a toy like this? LOVE the stand. Would kill for a 1/24 Patlabor Ingram set up like that. The quality looks fantastic, with gizmos and gimmicks out the wazoo. Won't be getting it though. Close, but not a must-have . . . Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted February 14, 2015 Author Posted February 14, 2015 Wow, it took a little under three years to get to this point. It must feel great to see one of your personal designs get some high quality 3D treatment like that. Quote
Gakken85 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 It's a cool piece, but I can't honestly say I like the design. Quote
xrentonx Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Preorder is up but everyone is waiting on the 29B right now: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-010544 Quote
xrentonx Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Anyone preorder? I saw that they may be releasing a dark/black colored one. If I was interested, I'd go for that one over the faint purple one. Quote
DarrinG Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I did not. While I love the creativity and attention to detail - I don't care much for the design. Do not care for the pastel colors either. But fans of that comic are darn lucky something of this magnitude was produced . . . Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Still on the fence for this one. I'll wait for more reviews before taking the plunge. Quote
Mechapilot77 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 It's a cool piece, but I can't honestly say I like the design. yup, everythign one could expect or want in a toy like that...given the design of the mecha. i'll get flamed for this but i think it lacks inspiration. Quote
xrentonx Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) There are a few design choices I don't care for. Lots of ovals for one. The Liefeld guns being another... The concept is cool. I like the modular components and the tiny pilot. Just wished the aesthetics were a little different but I guess that's his style. I'm not too familiar with his comic book work. DarrinG Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I have HUGE admiration for anyone creating a universe like that - especially with the detail he includes. It comes down to personal preferences. After looking over the comic it felt soulless somehow to me, if that makes any sense. Colossal effort and talent - but something just isn't there for me . . . Quote
dizman Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The design is solid and the accessories are plenty, it's a shame the price is so high or else I would have bought one. Maybe it will be on sale in the future. Quote

DarrinG Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 This is everything I want; High quality, superb packaging, fantastic art and extras, lots of bits and a diorama or two. Except - I don't like the design. It is not from the 80s, too modern I guess, and its not designed in Japan. Looks very American -Robocop-ish. Which it WAS designed in America, and not in the 80s, so this all makes sense. If I was rich I would get it for one of my kids just so I could un-box it and click through the joints... Quote
danth Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 You really can't beat 80's Japan for mecha design sensibilities. Quote

I'm on the same page that this toy has everything I want from a collectible. I even like the design. However there are just too much toys coming out that fit in my collection (especially since the Riobot Anubis is due for this month). I think this is a cool item if your toy collection has just a few pieces and not complete lines. For example you have one Optimus Prime and that is enough for your Transformers collection, one SoC, etc. I hope that the toy line gets off the ground and they can produce more toys for the line. It would be very sad if I could pick up this toy next year in a bargain bin. Quote
danth Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Yep - here's my top 30... Very nice! Is that Tlead at number 26 a model or toy? Quote
electric indigo Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Yep - here's my top 30... What is #16? Quote
DarrinG Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 That Tread is a one-of-a-kind custom creation I believe -- and a sweet one. #16 above is Iczer ROBO -- a WF resin kit I cannot locate. But to stay on topic with the thread, I greatly admire the effort that went into creating that comic world and that awesome toy. Superb offering. If it was say -- $79.99 -- I would grab it. But it's not likely ever to reach that stage . . . Quote
electric indigo Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Interesting, I completely missed Iczer 1 - and while it's not a clear clone, I wonder if Gundam Portent's color scheme is a pure coincidence: Also, look at this: http://ryugassj3.deviantart.com/art/Iczer-Robo-Character-Model-by-Obari-Real-489432328 Quote
DarrinG Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Oh - but my eyes tell me in .0003 seconds that Gundam is NOT from the 80s. However is would probably go well in the Armarauders world . . . Quote
UN Spacy Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Bellerophon (Cameron Custom) DX Type http://www.hlj.com/product/SET88312/Sci (35% off at HLJ) Any of you end up picking one up? Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016 I was waiting for the darker colored version, but it may not happen. Quote
