Valkyrie Hunter D Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 So it looks like Don Figueroa's been busy: Armarauders press release I'm always down for new mecha franchises, and this one comes from the West to boot! Quote
Graham Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 That's quite a nice mecha design. I'd probably by that toy. It's rare for a non-Japanese design team to actually be able to design nice looking Japanese style mecha. Graham Quote
mechaninac Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Hmm... interesting/promissing... I'm going to keep an eye on this. Quote
Twoducks Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Awesome stuff. Really like the centaur combinations and the planes look cool in robot mode. Had this hit when I was a kid, i would have been in toy Nirvana. Quote
ps99042 Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Still miss seeing Don's work in Transformers comics but this is definitely interesting news. I'm curious to see how many stores will carry the line and what the price point will be. Quote
EXO Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Wow. Definitely interested. Will keep a look out for more info. Quote
mrhillz Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 You all do know that Don is a Macross fan, so I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a homage somehow. Quote
GMANIFESS Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Definately looking forward to this series. I hope the prices are reasonable. Especially since it should be U.S. domestic & no import/yen pricing. Quote
electric indigo Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I spotted Luca Zampriolo aka LucaZ in the design crew. See his work at http://kallamity.com/ Quote
GU-11 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Not really thrilled by the story, but the toys look good. Hopefully they won't burn a hole in my pocket. Quote
Demon_seed_22 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) These are looking awesome. I saw they are going to be released Q1 2013... Any new info I missed? price point / pre orders..? I really hope they aren't crazy $, especially since there are ment to build/share parts.... Edited February 22, 2013 by Demon_seed_22 Quote
Major Focker Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 been waiting for this for quite a while. i don't think it ever got off the ground though. where did you hear the Q1 2013 launch date? Quote
GU-11 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 CDX has some nice pics of the Belerophon toy's prototype, and links to the first three chapters of the comic. Quote
Lobizon Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) Don Figueroa sculpted by T-REX Edited February 22, 2013 by Lobizon Quote
Major Focker Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 ah, facebook. that figures why i'd miss the news. Quote
Twoducks Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Interview with Don about the project (with new pics): http://www.poeghostal.com/2013/04/interview-valent-wang-and-don-figueroa-on-armarauders.html Going slow but steady. Really liking how the basic bot looks. Even the story sounds neat. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Progress with the toy line is painfully slow, but the Armarauders FB page hints at a collaboration with Sentinel, and maybe even some news during the Winter Wonder Festival in Japan. Quote
Mechapilot77 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Progress with the toy line is painfully slow, but the Armarauders FB page hints at a collaboration with Sentinel, and maybe even some news during the Winter Wonder Festival in Japan. Sentinel? Means it'll be a premium line but WAY WAY expensive.....hope it isn't priced into the stratosphere like most of their stuff. Quote
Gakken85 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I tried to read the comic but it was pretty terrible haha. The mech design is pretty cool. Seems heavily influence by mosepeduhh, and a little on the generic side. I'd be interested if Sent. jumped on board, but idk. Quote
DarrinG Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Designs are a bit generic - but --- LOVE the diorama docking accessory, that also doubles as the stand - sweet! LOVE the articulated pilot figure and working cockpit - v e r y c o o l . . . Quote
UN Spacy Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I saw on Instagram (@armarauders) that Tenjin is doing art for them...didn't know he was at SDCC. The gunmetal scheme looks nice. Quote
SuperHobo Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I'm glad to see the first figure is finally painted and should go up for pre-order this August. Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 I just checked their FB page. That mech does look awesome. Finally some painted progress! Quote
UN Spacy Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Update...think I'm gonna pull the trigger on this. The Bellerophon is locked and loaded—with accessories. This toy will be pushing the packaging weight load to the max with die-cast parts and a butt-load of equipment and firepower. While not the official final product photo release, you can see there’s a lot of bang for your buck. The suggested retail price hasn't been finalized quite yet, but we can let you know that what you see here is in the range of $200US. Quote
Falcon Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 That looks great- when are they selling that? Online or at a con? Quote
xrentonx Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Lookin good! I keep forgetting this thing exists but the more pics I see the closer I get to pulling the trigger on one! Quote
electric indigo Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Considering the big names that are associated with the product, the result looks rather underwhelming: I think the final execution unfortunately accentuates the weak basic design of the machine. It would look better with a heavy weathered paint scheme. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted December 16, 2014 Posted December 16, 2014 Oh very nice but the price ... Quote
