davidwhangchoi Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Here's a guide highlighting the differences between NGBII, NGS, and NGII (xbox 360) https://gamerant.com/ninja-gaiden-2-sigma-black-comparison-difference-guide/ Quote One controversial decision by Team Ninja was to base Ninja Gaiden 2 Black's level designs mostly on Sigma 2 rather than the original Xbox 360 version. This results in fewer enemies in some areas, and the combat difficulty feels toned down. and a link to reddit review: Pros: Better graphics, higher fps and gore, if you have strong pc. Pretty good artstyle adaptation to ue5. Improved upgrading system Quetzalcotl boss is back They ported over the good bosses from sigma 2, sadly not statue bosses Girl stages are ported over, good imo Mentor difficulty is unlocked from the start No icindiary shuriken spam, but that might be a con. Could have found a good balance. Cons: Same amount of enemies as sigma but easier to kill. This instead of ninja gaiden 2 enemy count. Removal of budha and liberty statue boss No giant skull worm boss in chapter 9 Cant run on water against water dragon in chapter 6, stuck with lame sit on pillar and shot arrows boss no windmill shuriken, kept sigma 2 archery system Same costumes as in sigma 2 No new weapon or addition. AFAIK the Sigma versions were what was used for the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection (which I already own on Steam, and why I'm not in a hurry to buy NG2B). I can't remember specifics, and yes, Sigma added content but removed puzzles, some cutscenes, changed some music, and changed weaknesses of bosses. And I remember the gore being removed from the Sigma series. All the limbs being lopped off by the human Cusinart Ryu were replaced by some sort of mist IIRC. I never did like that change. But it's been ages since I played, did Sigma have the gore as an option to be turned off? Quote

I played Ninja Gaiden and a NG2, but on the Xbox/360. I just always assumed that the Sigma versions were the "definitive" versions since they came later. It sounds like that's semi-true for the first Ninja Gaiden (though Itagaki himself says it's Black, not Sigma), but it sounds like porting from Xbox to PS3 was easier than porting from 360 to PS3, because reading up on it makes it sounds like some stuff was added and tweaked but some stuff was straight up cut in NG2 Sigma. Tking22 Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Monster Hunter Wilds beta 2 dropped last night, only got about three hours into this one but yeah, definitely my Game of the Year already. Space Marine II just got a big update as well, been loving that game since release, MKVI armor finally dropped and I'm all over it. Quote

Valkyrie Hunter D Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Trailer for the next Shinobi game: Lizardcube handled Streets of Rage 4 with a lot of respect and passion, so I expect Shinobi to get the same treatment. Quote

davidwhangchoi Posted February 17 Posted February 17 if someone hasn't picked it up yet good price, lowest price it's ever been. Quote
davidwhangchoi Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Good series if you haven't checked it out yet. Quote

mikeszekely Posted Saturday at 08:12 AM Posted Saturday at 08:12 AM The guys who made Space Marine 2 are making a AAA game based on one of Hasbro's "tentpole" IPs. I'm thinking Transformers has to be the frontrunner; Space Marine and the Cybertron games aren't all that far apart. G.I. Joe would be a very close runner up. Dungeons and Dragons would be my dark horse pick. Quote

davidwhangchoi Posted Monday at 11:16 PM Posted Monday at 11:16 PM never played Avowed... some news of interest: Everyone is believing Persona 4 Remake Quote
mikeszekely Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM Posted yesterday at 12:50 AM 1 hour ago, davidwhangchoi said: Everyone is believing Persona 4 Remake I'm down. I loved P3 Reload; P4 with the save graphic overhaul and quality of life upgrades would very likely make it my favorite game in the series (mechanically P5 was better, but I thought the rest of the game never quite lived up to P4). Avowed isn't as big and open as Skyrim, but the writing and voice acting is sharp. It's high fantasy from the people that made Fallout New Vegas and the Outer Worlds. Quote

I mean, I'm playing it with Game Pass because I'm already paying for that, but after playing long enough to get to the second main area I'd say it's worth picking up if you don't have Game Pass. The more I play it the more it reminds me of The Outer Words. I mean, The Outer Worlds was sort of mechanically similar to Fallout, but rather than one big open world map it was broken down into a number of smaller open world maps. So, Avowed is mechanically sort of like Elder Scrolls, but again instead of having one huge open world it's broken up into a series of smaller ones. Which is still fine; each map is littered with side quests, colorful characters, and hidden treasures. For anyone else giving it a go, I went with the court augur background. I bulked up my intellect pretty quickly, but as of level 10 my other stats are fairly even. Counting buffs from items and what not I've got a 7 in intellect and a 4 or 5 in everything else. I'm focusing on casting, but rather than wands my main gear is a one-handed sword and a grimoire. There's a very good one-handed sword you can get fairly early on in the game, and rather than replace it I just keep upgrading it. You can set a second loadout that you can switch to with a single button (left alt on PC, dunno console); the idea I think is to be able to quickly switch from melee to ranged. I'm using a pistol for my other loadout. Quote
