Guest davidwhangchoi Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) Great analogy, R2 D2 got on my nerves too (well in the original trilogy, I actually liked him in the prequels). / -b. What??? that's blasphemous... ok, but at least you're consistent... please don't tell me you hate darth vader and g1 megatron. the best part of beast wars was when ravage is conformed till he sees G1 megatron's image. he is moved by the sight of his leader... i stood up and cheered. i felt the same way as ravage and was ready to get up and follow him. Gakken85 Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) I don't argue that G1 isn't crap, though the movie is the best piece of Transformers media ever made. I do argue that watching robots turn into rats is stupid. Not just the concept, but the original beast toys were shellformers If you contend that G1 was only there to sell toys than you must contend that beast wars only existed to sell more toys as the G1 toys stopped selling and they had to do something else... and that something else was silly. Maybe it has a good story, but so does War and peace and I'm not gonna read that either. Though.. I think I read part of that... I'm here for Flash cars/planes and blocky robots. Or bust Edited July 26, 2014 by Gakken85 Quote

LOL - I do strive for consistency. Vader: OT is awesome, PT is not. Megatron: has been pretty much the same in every incarnation that I've seen him in (G1, Beast Wars, Beast Machines and in the live action films) - evil, bumbling, funny, and incredibly capable of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. And yeah, I like him for what he is. I do love G1 Masterpiece toys above all else, not at all a fan of Beast Wars toys - go figure. -b. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Bah. If they really wanted him to be a rival for Megadrive Megatron, they'd have made him Super Famicom Prime. I thought of it, once the MD Megatron was first announce. Super Famiconvoy, maybe Nintendo doesn't want to give the license. Quote
mikeszekely Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 maybe Nintendo doesn't want to give the license. That actually seems really likely. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 ultra magnus looks small in his hands Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Yeah.. looks good next to him, but it's still giant. Quote
RD Blade Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I think it's the perspective. He seems to be holding Magnus a bit behind him. Notice how small his hand is as well. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Yeah.. looks good next to him, but it's still giant. Yeah, in that pic of Magnus and Prime, Magnus is towering over him. Can't wait. Even Star Brick Space Fighter is looking 'OK'. -b. Quote

Scyla Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Review of Generations Leader Jetfire. Interesting and cool looking transformation. I would totally buy it if Takara releases a Dark Skyfire version. Does someone know if TakaraTomy will release this in Japan with more paint apps? Quote
VF-Zer0S Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I really liked beast wars but I liked armada better. Really hoping a MP Armada Optimus Prime is made but the MP-10 reissue next year will suffice Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Yeah. Delayed. Which is fine with all the crap coming out. Quote
anime52k8 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Meh, I was going to put mine in private warehouse for a month so I could ship it with other stuff anyways. Quote
technoblue Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 More private warehouse shuffling for me too. The upside is that I'll get some Macross stuff early that has been waiting for shipment. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) damn i was going to ship him with the yf 30 and vf-25F hlj Edited July 28, 2014 by davidwhangchoi Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Fine with the delay on MP Wheeljack as well, if it's only a month I can still ship it with the 25F I just paid for along with whatever else I order between now and then. -b. Quote
Scyla Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Looks like a crazy transformation. However I got the impression form watching the review that the designer forgot half way down what to to and just stopped. I think the designer overused the flexible plastic on this toy. Other than that he seems like a good Transformer toy. Sadly I haven't seen any of the AoE Dinobots on the shelfs. Quote
vlenhoff Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Yes, totally unrelated, but.... I love these guys... Quote
Silverstreak Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 That Laserbeak/Buzzsaw mould is one of the major highlights of the MP line. Pure genius. Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Most excellent victory space brick watch, Wed. edition: Looks like the connections for Leo are there. Quote
Twoducks Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Spacebrick is looking mighty find. Very retro brick-o-licious. Quote
anime52k8 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I never realized until now how much spacebrick looks like a legioss and tread. Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) Kind of a mix between that and a gundam haha. It's funny, it's like 80% what 80% of the people on here talk about and like + it's a g1 transformer but people still try to find flaw.s Edited July 30, 2014 by Gakken85 Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) It's part of the G1 continuity, and franchise, and is most definitely not a G2 toy, so it's G1. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_1_%28franchise%29 Edited July 30, 2014 by Gakken85 Quote
treatment Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) Not really. It's not part of G1. It is part of the japanese continuity, however. Quite distinct from the G1 we (non-japanese) grew up on. Edited July 30, 2014 by treatment Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Not really. It's not part G1. It is part of the japanese continuity, however. Wrong and wrong. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_1_%28franchise%29 In Japan, rather than simply be identified as The Transformers throughout its lifespan, the franchise was rebranded with a new title and a shift in storytelling every year. This led to a collection of mini-franchises within the larger Generation 1 franchise, each featuring their own individual components. They are: 1985 - Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers 1986 - Transformers 2010 1987 - The Headmasters 1988 - Super-God Masterforce 1989 - Victory 1990 - Zone 1991 - Return of Convoy 1992 - Operation Combination Quote
