kaiotheforsaken Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Please don't there are not just enough for us around to buy! :P/> Glad you like it. :)/> Haha but the 25G looks so out of place with all my Yamato Valks. I need to pre order one more 171 CF at least so he has a posse. Quote
Twoducks Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Here it is in fighter mode with the Ozma parts and the V1 S head (Remember that the blue is not that bright in person). Head does nor sit flush (but I have not tinkered with it). But when you add the chest armor ir covers it. Have not used the kit S head but I think it would fit a lot better. I like the look of the brighter Alto parts. I’ll try them on in person later with a little twist. Quote
TCracker Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 that looks good, IMHO. can't wait to try this out once i get my armored parts out of storage. Quote
takatoys Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Is it safe to put the armor packs and leave the valk in battloid mode for a long period? My V1 Ozma suffered cracks due to the weight of the armor. Glad I sold it on time. Quote

My V1 Ozma suffered cracks due to the weight of the armor. Glad I sold it on time. I was wondering something similar. Is there a way to pad or protect your valk from being scuffed up by the Super Parts? Quote
TCracker Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Yup, beggars cannot be choosers. Thanks to twoducks for the inspiration. Quote
Archer Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 That actually looks really nice. Thanks for all the requested pics you guys! Quote
Twoducks Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Cool pics TCracker! Glad the idea was found usefull! At least in my case, it has negated the need to get an Ozma at all cost. Quote
Duymon Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 At this point you're better off just getting a decent airbrush and popping on some dark ghost grey on the 25G. Quote
anime52k8 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I think it would look a million times better if you just used the 25G head and hands. I've never been that big a fan of the 25S head (it's my least favorite of all the head designs applied to any YF/VF-24/25/27/29/30/etc. derivative) but the DX v.1 head is just an abomination. Quote
TCracker Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) Point taken. The parts are swappable anyways. But for now this Valk is designated VF25S Blue Jolly Roger Unit TCracker Custom. Edited January 20, 2013 by TCracker Quote
KH355hamdi Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I beleive the chest piece on Ozma is different then the rest of the VF-25. His one got two bumps on the side and probably have different profiles as well to house the forward facing head. When I transform my VF-25S Renewal it is easier to pull out the chest piece to allow the big head to come out without scratching it. Quote
Duymon Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I believe all the VF's have different chest, back and collar plates. The Models were like this (cept for the collar plates) This is why there's no indentations on the sides to put the lasers down farther on the 25G like the 25S and F backplates Quote

The head, chest, back and neck was changed for every release to get the proper profile in fighter mode, where as the v1's just squashed the hell out of the head sculpts and put funky bevels in the chest and back plates so every head would sort of kind of fit using the same set of parts. (and by fit I mean have ugly gaps and make the spine of the fighter mode look broken). Quote
Scream Man Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 thanks to AE, got my 25F today. Shes a helluva plane, Im super excited to have her. havent had a lot of time to play with it yet, but Robot mode is surprisingly gorgeous in person Quote
TCracker Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 More Frankenvalk pics I kinda dig the color combinations. Quote
Scream Man Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 ...And then AE had the 25Super packs for $55 plus shipping, so just under $100. Score! Quote

Scyla Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Need to get me an Armor Pack. Anyone know where I can find out less than 200 bucks? NY has them in stock the last time I checked. The Alto version might be less the $200. Quote

auberondreaming Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 So has there been any word on a reissue of any of the renewal vf-25's? I missed the ridiculous window they had and would love to get one of these, but not for the price of the vf-4 from yamato. Quote
Duymon Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 (edited) Gotta catch them all Bandai uses "Macross Frontier" on your wallet. IT IS SUPER EFFECTIVE Edited January 23, 2013 by Duymon Quote
takatoys Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 More than 2,000 bucks worth of Frontier toys. Toys are beautiful, prices are horrible. Quote
SaitouSad Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Heads up, Amiami has 1 preowned.. but it's very expensive @ 24580 yen. I'm gonna have to pass on this, cause that price is ridiculous (even if it's rare). http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-RBT-1598&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dvf-25%24pagemax%3D100%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 Also available preowned are the armour and super parts, which are priced pretty decentlt.. i would get them if I had a VF-25F T^T http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-RBT-02224&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dvf-25%24pagemax%3D100%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-RBT-02085&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dvf-25%24pagemax%3D100%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1 Quote

Loop Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Is AE going through some rough times? I know last week I had problems getting the site to load. Quote

Scyla Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Now that we have come so far to swap parts of our Valkyries I do have a question. Is it possible to separate the two parts of the from the codpiece of the Super and Armor Parts and switch them to create a more Anime accurate one for the Super Parts. What I mean is to take the outer piece of the Armored Parts and combine it with the insert of the Super Parts to get a Super Parts codpiece with a black outline as shown in the line-art. It's the same with the hip guards the armored one lack the markings of the Super Parts and the top has the wrong color but they would snap on more securely and would solve that issue. If this would work you don't even have to get a new Set because the Armored Parts come with two codpieces. Of course you have to buy both versions of the add-on sets. I don't want to encourage anyone to break their Valkyries but someone on the boards that has more experience with toys could look into it. Quote
