chyll2 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Do the japanese know something we don't? There have been two ozma renewal armor sets on mandarake for over a week now when they usually sell in hours. It's strange enough that two sets would be dumped on mandarake at the same time and even stranger they're not selling. some customer of Mandarake are non-Japanese but at 32k and 33k yen, Japanese or not, they will definitely have to think twice or thrice before ever committing on it. I can vouch that one of the armor set has been sold out at one point but got released to be available after sometime. Quote
Kelsain Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Dang, shoulda sold mine when they went for $400... Quote

abbadon Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I sure hope that after reissuing the 25F and the 25S last year, Bandai would consider the 25G this year. Quote

I don't know for sure but maybe the 25G weren't as hot sellers as the others perhaps? Edited March 12, 2015 by spanner76 Quote
Bahamutzyro Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 they will re release. just have patience! Quote
mechaninac Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 It took almost forever and a day for the S to see a reissue; so, although it may take some time, a rerelease of the G is nearly assured. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I'm surprised Peaugh's -25 Alto w/Super pack hasn't sold yet. What's the going rate on a set like that nowadays? Quote
calubin_175 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Question: Does the blue super pack(Michael's) fit well on the YF-25 Prophecy? How about the blue or Alto's tornado pack? Quote
wmkjr Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Yes it fits. Check out Saburo's YF-25 pics here or on Flickr for reference. Quote
McFly!! Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I'm surprised Peaugh's -25 Alto w/Super pack hasn't sold yet. What's the going rate on a set like that nowadays? i'd say anything under 250 for both would be a fair price for a used/displayed set. sealed, they could still fetch up to 390 on manda/jungle Question: Does the blue super pack(Michael's) fit well on the YF-25 Prophecy? How about the blue or Alto's tornado pack? Yes it fits. calubin_175 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I would like to know how much of the joints in Chogokin DXs are diecast? Diecast joints are not as good as plastic as they tend to expand when friction is applied onto them, making them loose. Quote
mickyg Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) I'll take a photo of my 25G instruction manual, as bandai seem to have used an unpainted sample for the product images. It clearly shows the die cast. Just from memory though, the shoulder and hip joints are metal. Both the ball and socket. There are plastic inserts to deal with friction in both. Edited March 15, 2015 by mickyg Quote
mickyg Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 The 25G instructions don't really help much. But yes, as CY just mentioned, I completely forgot about the ankles. Everything that has a ball joint is metal, except for hip guns. The shoulders are metal on the ball end, but the socket is made up of two plastic halves. The swinging mechanism in the shoulder is also metal. The intakes are metal, with plastic inserts in the sockets and the ball is also metal. I can't remember the exact makeup of the ankles but I believe both ball and socket are metal, with appropriate pieces made of plastic for friction. Quote
calubin_175 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I just realised that technically the Super Pack has more missiles than the Armored Pack since the two micro missile pods in front of the Super Pack boosters houses 90 rounds each and the Tornado pack should also be similar, while the Armored Pack has a 15 tube rocket launcher with an unknown amount attached to its boosters and has a total of 4 regular micro missile pods(shoulders and chest) and 4 close range micro missile pods(legs). Garfinkel Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Hi guys, just got my first renewal, an Alto VF-25F. and here he is giving my V2 Hikaru a bad day. I am really impressed with the balance and pose-ability of the renewal valks! Then on a whim picked up a set of super armour for him, got a set of 25G armour as it was a reasonable price unlike the Alto sets i found. In my opinion Michael's armour looks good on Alto David Quote
Murphy Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) Actually Altos vf-25f did wear Michaels super parts in one episode so it's legit. Edited March 16, 2015 by Murphy Quote
Loop Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) Actually Altos vf-25f did wear Michaels super parts in one episode so it's legit. Murphy is correct, it was when Alto left Galia 4. Michael had left them and a fold drive above the planet before he descended to Deliver Ranka's performance. Edited March 16, 2015 by Loop Quote
spanner Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Great photos David! Especially this one! Awesome action pose! Quote
calubin_175 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) At the moment the super pack and torando pack of Michael's is the cheapest of them all, some even going for lower than official retail. This was a case of too many option parts in the market and too few VF-25G owners. At the same time, most people would just tend to buy one option part for their one VF-25, unless they own multiple units of the same VF-25. I think the merit in selling option packs separately via web store is that for those characters with multiple packs, the buyer is not obligated to buy them all or to buy multiple bundled releases akin to the DX version 1s. For me, I went with armored pack for both Alto's and Ozma's, the rest being or planning to be super pack, so no tornado packs at all. I also tend to buy YF-29s only if they're bundled with the super pack during a sale. Edited March 17, 2015 by calubin_175 Quote
spanner Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 its funny how it all works.. for a while back there you could pickup an Alto for not much over 10k yen but his Supers & Armors were asking BS money! 20k to 30k yen! And then the total opposite for Michael.. His Valk was consistently asking over 30k yen and his option parts were peanuts.. Quote
ArchieNov Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I'm sure those option parts for Michael will inflate in price if his 25G gets reissued. Quote
chyll2 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 I'm sure those option parts for Michael will inflate in price if his 25G gets reissued. yeah, so buy them now while its cheap and pray for re-issue. I already bought one for a different reason though Quote
derex3592 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 So---as I am now into the Frontier Valks game...has anybody tried panel lining the 25's??? I've done almost all of my Yamato 1:60 ver 2's, but they have more of a flat finish. I'm thinking the Bandai's might be easier since they are glossy. Any thoughts from you guys??? Quote

Since you've done Yamato v2, I would say it can only get easier. the Bandai panel line for 25 renewals are deeper and thicker, there are some minimal problem like very washed out panel line due to mold inconsistency (how the right side is deep, while the left side of the same part is shallow or almost none) but as i said, they are very minimal and can be easily worked on, unlike yamato v2 where everything is shallow and thin edit: and yes, the gloss plastic helps if you are doing a panel line wash Edited March 17, 2015 by chyll2 Quote
derex3592 Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Cool! I'm gonna try to get around to trying it on one of mine this weekend. I'll post some pics if all goes well. Quote

mickyg Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) I haven't done a 25 yet, but the 29 was very easy to do a wash on and I think it came up great! Definitely worth a try. I've been using acrylics lately, mixed with water and a tiny bit of dish soap to break the tension. If you don't like it, wipe it off with windex and you're back to a clean slate.
