ff95gj Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Paid for my preorder of this, and I don't really even want it. I couldn't cancel it, or I'd lose some other preorders I had that I do want, so we'll see how this plays out. They'll blacklist you once you back off from one purchase? Next time we should make purchase with a new email address everytime... Quote

Jasonc Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 where did you pre-order yours from? Nippon Yassan. I would've been alright, had I cancelled before the end of the invoice request date, but since I'm a first time customer there, I have no idea if they'd cancel my other preorders, and it's just something I'm not willing to chance. I'm sure if I get this 171EX, I can just keep the box closed, and sell it for what I paid and shipping, or make a profit if need be. Maybe it'll grow on me, and I'll keep it make after sometime. There's just too many other things I'd rather have than this. Quote
pud333 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 I'm sure you will be able to sell it no problem. Quote
Reïvaj Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Of course you can cancel a pre-order. They only say that once they’ve sent you the payment invoice 2 to 3 weeks before the official release, you’ll have until one day before that date to pay the full amount. IF you fail to do that, all your pre-orders will be cancelled. Just drop them a message. They’re nice and reply fast. http://www.nippon-yasan.com/lang-en/modules/faq/faqs.php Quote
ultraman zoffy Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 There's just too many other things I'd rather have than this. Kinda the same boat... I pre-ordered a 171 before the 25G was announced, pre-ordered the 25G with NY, and now I'm planning to sell the 171 off as soon as it arrives. Nice valk and all, but ultimately all Alto does in it is get shot down anyways. Quote

After hearing the exchange rate debacles, the last thing I want to do is lose money. Kinda the same boat... I preordered out of the "I gotta have it" mentality, but being that there are just too many other things coming out, and those take priority, I can let this go. There's another DYRL 1S coming that I want, the Hikaru DYRL 1S, and I can get both those for the same price as I'm paying for this. With that in mind, why go there? Hmmm, maybe I'll trade this for a Fokker DYRL 1S with Super and Strike parts? That's what I really want, along with the Max/Milia 1J, so that's an idea. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Anybody get pre-order payment requests from HLJ yet? Quote
pud333 Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Anybody get pre-order payment requests from HLJ yet? I doubt you'll get any until the a day or two after the release date. Quote

Hikuro Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Yeah, everything I've come across says the end of the month. After how much I enjoy my YF-29, I'm really looking forward to the 171 now. Quote

UN Spacy Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 HURRY! IT'S BACK ONLINE!!! http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?scode=TOY-RBT-2281 Quote
Lolicon Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Nice. Snagged one from Amiami. Gotta love their discounts. Guess I can cancel my HLJ order now. Quote
IXTL Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 What a surprise! But I've already got 2 pre-ordered from different places. Quote
Kurisama Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Boom. Me too. That make 1 paid for and 2 on pre-order. Quote

IXTL Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) Nice. Snagged one from Amiami. Gotta love their discounts. Guess I can cancel my HLJ order now. I thought of that but then Amiami say "In cases of manufacturer stock shortages, pre-order items will be offered on a first come, first served basis." and I'd be pretty far down the list if I ordered now and they don't have enough stocks to fill the orders. anime52k8 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) hmm... don't know if I should go for it. It's probably going to be cheaper than HLJ, but It might just be inviting trouble. :edit: maybe I should give up waiting on pre-orders for the VF-25G until two weeks before it releases, I might have a better shot then. Lupin The Third Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 <p> HURRY! IT'S BACK ONLINE!!! http://www.amiami.co...de=TOY-RBT-2281 Awesome. Thanks for the heads up! Secured a unit. I already had one reserved with Amazon Japan but given the rarity of the Renewal line I was worried that even one of the biggest online retailers in the world isn't immune to the Fantastic Bandai Dildo Fest of Macross Fan Anus Destruction... Best of luck to everyone else. If I get more than one I'm definitely up for trading for the VF-25S that BBTS screwed me out of if there's anyone sitting on a new one of those. Quote
Lolicon Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Actually, I'm gonna keep my HLJ order after all... just in case. I don't want to be BBTS'ed. Quote
Lupin The Third Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) I wonder if Bandai suddenly listened to the fans and said to themselves "WTF are we doing? Why are we letting scalpers sell every unit we have for three times retail? Why don't we just....I dunno....maybe make a few extra?".....And then I woke up and realized this is still Bandai we're talking about. Nevermind. They're gone already.... IXTL Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Actually, I'm gonna keep my HLJ order after all... just in case. I don't want to be BBTS'ed. Anyone here been shafted by Amiami with regards to them not fulfilling pre-orders? I pre-ordered one and I'm considering letting my HLJ pre-order go. Quote
Lupin The Third Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Actually, I'm gonna keep my HLJ order after all... just in case. I don't want to be BBTS'ed. Yeah I got seriously hosed by BBTS. And not only because did they didn't ship my two units of the VF-25S I had on preorder, and of course we don't get to find this lovely bit of news until after the stores in Japan sold out. Frigging two weeks I kept noticing the 25S on HLJ and other places, but I thought to myself "No, I'll just keep my BBTS preorders. They've always been good to me before and I'd only save about $20 by importing them. I'll support my 'local' merchants". Silly me. Then they held the preorders even though there was no chance of them being filled until finally they fully cancelled them on all of us early May if i remember correctly. Then that same week they cancelled a number of additional preorders I had for Bubblegum Crisis figures they claimed were coming available again. I've never been so pissed at an online retailer before. they seriously cancelled almost $1000 worth of preorders with little more than a shrug and an "oh well". I'm not sure where the hell they got their info that Yamato was releasing the BGC figures again but to follow up the 25S by screwing me on another batch of preorders? I'll never use them again. Quote
eugimon Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 ordered one from ami ami since it's 25$ cheaper than anime export... but apparently they have a 20% cancellation penalty... Quote
IXTL Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I've let my HLJ pre-order go. If Amiami don't come through with my pre-order, I 've still got another local source. If both don't come through, well... c'est la vie. Quote
Chronocidal Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Freakin A.. I leave the forums for one night to study for a class... Anyone who still has a spare on order, and gets both, I'll buy one from you if I don't get my BBTS order. Quote
Kurisama Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 If I get all 3, I will definitely sell at least one. Don't stress. Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 While I do like this model, the price point atm is a bit out of reach for me. Also the availability seems equally scarce. Most websites were already sold out the minute they were posted for pre-order. This is another reason I wish bandai weren't so stingy with their production runs. At least with yamato you know there will enough available upon release. Which strikes me as odd because bandai is a much bigger company with all the other properties and merchandise they have already. They should realise by now that the macross brand is profitable and does sell, maybe not as much as gundam sales per say but they can still make considerable profit from this franchise. I know Japanese companies don't like to take risks but this trend has been getting on the extreme end of things lately and not just for the toy industry... Bandai really need to listen you. Seriously I want to buy a VF-25S and VF-171 and ended up spending my money on Yamato toys instead. I don't care how great bandai thinks gundam is, not supplying enough toys for macross is hurting them. Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 I'm wondering if I'll get either of my orders. I could only grab them at iShop2Go and BBTS... neither are having great track records with this Bandai BS. Really, I think the biggest problem with all of this is that Bandai doesn't care and monetarily doesn't have to care. Yamato are dealing in the classics, they know there's a world wide audience and that their bottom line depends on as many fans as possible getting their hands on it. Bandai is huge. They have huge divisions. They have huge properties outside of Japan that bring them money. Macross is relatively niche in Japan, and cannot be exported. They can make enough to satisfy the Japanese and not care. So for this, the other renewals and the 29 they probably don't even pay attention to the people outside Japan because legally and monetarily it makes no sense for them to. It's a real shame. But perhaps half a decade from now Yamato will get the rights to do some of their own toys from mac F? Much like they are doing for mac 7 now? Yamato still dominates in the SDFM toy area so I suppose this (MacF) is where bandai can take advantage of the one area yamato can not touch and where there is no one to compete with them on. (let the fanatics fight over limited numbers, watch the average price people on ebay are willing to pay and adjust price accordingly by only making enough to supply demand without risking it by going over) Bandai have the model kits, the toys, and the uniquq mechs (the konig monster, QRea) for this series. Yamato has Mac7 and SDFM plus whatever other valks that fans want to see. Quote
