Einherjar Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Sorry, I know too much behind the scenes to be excited about this news. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2016-01-12/pacific-rim-theme-park-attraction-opens-in-vallejo-california/.97480 Edited January 13, 2016 by Einherjar Quote
areaseven Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Just a couple of days ago, Chinese conglomerate Wanda Group purchased Legendary Entertainment for US$3.5 billion. Just how big is Wanda Group? They own AMC Theatres in the U.S. and Hoyts Cinemas in Australia, as well as several hotels and shopping malls worldwide. What does this mean for Legendary? $$$ to finally make Pacific Rim 2, as China was the largest market for the first film. This is the hope that Guillermo was talking about. Quote
Froy Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Whoa, that sad. I enjoined the first movie. Maybe in 30 or 40 years or so may be possible. It is already happening now. Quote

JB0 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I'm still having trouble getting excited again. I can't ride this on-again-off-again-on-again roller-coaster. Quote

Big s Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 My daughter and I loved the first one cheese and all, can't wait for the next one. The suits toward the beginning of the film looked very anime for a live action film, especially around the ankle area. Quote
Tking22 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Okay this time it's for real, they're serious, it's really happening people! http://io9.gizmodo.com/get-your-jaegers-ready-the-pacific-rim-sequel-is-comin-1782917001 Quote
captain america Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 2018 might be just about the time Max Factory releases its Jaeger kits, assuming that these are even still in the pipeline. Quote

kajnrig Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) *makes incoherent sounds of glee* EDIT: So these are being made by Max Factory? Between these and the 1/20 VF-1 (and yeah let's add that Mumei prototype to the list too), I am quickly paying more attention to this company... EDIT 2: Okay, that Kaname figure, too... Since it (and the rest of the Walkure figures) is part of the Plamax section, I'm guessing it'll be a kit of some kind? Edited July 24, 2016 by kajnrig Quote
Big s Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Now I need a ship model the right size so he can beat a monster upside the head😆 Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Are those PLAMAX model kits or toys? -b. Quote
mechaninac Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Are those PLAMAX model kits or toys? -b. Just a guess here, but if you look behind the figures... Quote
kajnrig Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 The "pla" in Plamax comes from "plamo," the Japanese shorthand for "plastic model." That, combined with the runners behind the figures, suggests model kit. Quote

Big s Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 I've been looking at that one. It's so ugly I love it. There's a lot of surface details all over, that would be great for weathering. And it comes out in time to Christmas. Quote
captain america Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 (edited) Anyone notice how those horizontal slits near the top of Cherno's head look like eyes, the spotlights like a nose, and that lower horizontal/trapezoid shape like a mouth? I'm going to Kaiju hell and I don't care! Edited August 24, 2016 by captain america Quote

kajnrig Posted August 25, 2016 Posted August 25, 2016 85m height / 350 scale = 24.3 cm = 9.6 in. Taller than a 1/72 VF-25 (21.7 cm), and 1/100 Gundams (18 cm). That's not bad at all. I suppose it's too much to ask for an 18-incher to challenge the Neca toys... Quote
