Benson13 Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Has anyone already found out where the cheapest place to get them from is yet? Quote
akt_m Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 (edited) If i wanted to buy a VF-1 toy, this would be the best choice right? Edited February 28, 2012 by akt_m Quote
Benson13 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 1/60 VF-1 v.2's have the best sculpt. I prefer the 1/48's myself. I did however preorder that VF-1D. How can anything so ugly be so sexy? Quote
DarrinG Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 REALLY hoping Yamato re-releases the M&M Valks with new parts -- so I do not have to resort to this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/250994092818?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1642wt_754 Quote
Mommar Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 You know we've mentioned to people before that these Valks really don't keep/gain value... but looking at what some of the M&M and Elintseeker toys are going for on Ebay makes me think that if I really needed to make some money paying that $140 for each I did two years ago was a good idea. Quote
DarrinG Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Unless they actually DO re-release them, with extra parts and improvements. Then all of the sudden the perceived value drops by more than half overnight. Maybe that's why this set is being listed right now, before that announcement comes... Quote
Mommar Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 How many extra parts/improvements would there be? The extra side covers are about it. They already have the new crotch locking mechanism. Quote
DarrinG Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 It will be the raising pilot seats, neck cover and side covers. Should also be gun straps IMO. With the Millia one you might get the baby pod... Of course they haven't even talked about the M&M, I'm just hoping at this point... Quote
Benson13 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 There is no way I'd ever pay $900 for two Valks. Not a prayer. Ever. The most I've paid is $125 for my VF-1D V.2 1/60 and that was a bit much for me. Quote
Mommar Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Well, dosn't matter to me anyway. I'm never selling my M's. Max is hands down my favorite and I've wanted a perfect VF-1J since I was a kid and I'd like to keep Max with his wife (take that Macross 7!) Quote
Mommar Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 The paint job, really. They have their own fast packs in specialized colors too. And not many were made and there were not re-releases so they're pretty rare. Quote
Kicker773 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) Need some confirmation.. on the last release of Yamato model kits 1/60 the image showed optional parts, excluding the double seaters, the model kits include seats, side covers, and what looks to be a pod. Is that correct? I've been looking at the Yamato site and from the images it indicate it does.. Edited March 4, 2012 by Kicker773 Quote
Valkyrie23 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) The VF-1A and 1S kits included single seats, neck cover and side covers. Only the VF-1J kit included the additional baby pod. Edited March 4, 2012 by Valkyrie23 Quote
Jasonc Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 (edited) I ended up buying 1 S, 1 A, and 2 J kits. I really want to customize these, so just waiting for the right custom job to work on. I was going to do a M & M version with the 1Js, but I'd want to die them, not paint them. There's no way the blue and red paints would hold up on the plastic during transformation. They really, really need to reissue them. Edited March 4, 2012 by Jasonc Quote
pud333 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Preordered the VF-1D with option parts from Amiami. Quote
Old Man Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 When do you think the HLJ preorder will be up for the VF-1D with option parts? Quote
pud333 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Who knows? Today? Tomorrow? A week from now? HLJ tends to go at their own pace. For everything. That said, should be up soon since the release is in April. Quote
Murphy Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Preordered the VF-1D with option parts from Amiami. thanks for the heads up! i ordered aswell Quote
Old Man Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) Do you think I need to worry about AmiAmi selling out before HLJ puts their preorder up? I don't want to run into the same fiasco as the VF-171EX. Edited March 5, 2012 by Old Man Quote
pud333 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) No. Anime-Export has it up as well. But don't yell at me if it does. Edited March 5, 2012 by pud333 Quote
Old Man Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Preorder is up at HLJ for the 1/60 VF-1D Transformable with Option Parts! http://www.hlj.com/product/YMT00227 Quote
moose Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 What shipping like with Amiami to the US at least do they ship SAL Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 ShouId get this reissue with the accesory parts??? I already have the ver2 VF-1D. Quote
pud333 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I wouldn't if I already owned a 1D. Only reason why I'm getting it is not for the accessory parts, but for the valk. Quote
treatment Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 hmm. 8820y at HLJ vs 8620y at AmiAmi. i'll most likely still wait for a better pricing. like a spring-sale pricing or something... Quote
moose Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 (edited) I would not bet on that this was very popular I have a feeling that they might sell out. The VF-1j and VF-1S those I think they might be around but you never know I check other retailers and ebay to gauge how many are in stock. On the other had with this new rerelease it might bring down the price of the orginals. Edited March 5, 2012 by moose Quote
ultraman zoffy Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 ShouId get this reissue with the accesory parts??? I already have the ver2 VF-1D. I've got one already as well... I'd say the most sensible thing to do is wait it out and see if the parts will be offered seperately. Honestly, with replacement shoulder hinges readily available now and no significant changes to the design, there's really no need to go back and buy a duplicate valk for these parts alone. Save the money for re-releases of valks you don't have already. After seeing the successful shoulder hinge design from VF5S and his friend, I'd also say it isn't too wild a possibility that someone will simply draft these parts up and make them available on Shapeways in the future. Quote
Valkyrie23 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I was thinking that this VF-1D reissue would be unique because it will include the double seat parts. The recently issued unbuilt kits, with option parts, did not include the double seat and it hasn't been seen anywhere else except with the limited wonderfest sale. Quote
Benson13 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 I'm just happy I could pick up a VF-1D without paying $400, and I get extra parts to boot. Quote
Mommar Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Yeah, I missed the 1D the first go around so this is a good deal to me. I actually don't even really care about the extra seat parts I just wanted a 1D. Quote
Valkyrie2008 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 hmm. 8820y at HLJ vs 8620y at AmiAmi. i'll most likely still wait for a better pricing. like a spring-sale pricing or something... Hobby Search (1999 dot co dot jp) have is for 8,330 yen, if anyone interested. Quote
