Zinjo
I love the Skull insigia on the shield! I've always felt that if a Valk has a sheild, what better way to identify its squadron than putting the squadron logo and fighter number on the sheild... I've done it on all my composites and it's nice to see someone else doing it too...
David Hingtgen
Agreed, the shield is very overlooked in valks for marking/identification purposes.
Kelsain
You should paint the pilot's flight suit gray!
Scream Man
I just found this, and it's AWESOME dude! So tempted to get another one and try it myself....
Fatalist
The FAST packs ain't chopped liver ya know!!! GET TO WORK! I wanna see this beaut completely rigged up and ready to kick a$$!
Kurisama
Fatalist - I'm afraid I've only panel lined the super parts and put U.N. Spacey decals on the leg FAST packs + matte clear coats. O will have to take photos when I get home. Scream Man - If u can afford it, do it! The price tag alone makes you be so careful when painting it. Kelsain - I like the Isamu suit! Grey would look killer tho.... David & Zinjo - I agree, what better place to put your squad markings/decals and number? Shields are awesome! Kurisama
Update on the planned add-on; Pylons and HMM's are obviously still WIPs - and you can see how I intend to attach them to the original wing.
Mommar
Where is that going to attach to the 11? It looks like a similar idea I've had for wing mounted missiles on the VF-19.
Kurisama
It will clip on over the wing flap thingy.
Mommar
Wow, how thick is it? Like I said, I had a similar idea for the VF-19 but the edges on the wings are so thin that they would be damaged if something clipped on to the edges. I'm assuming you're using the ridge farther in on the 11. Not something easily done on the 19. I was considering something connecting more towards the root but that's not super stable the farther out you go on the wings.
Kurisama
Yeah - using the ridge on the aileron. Should be able to hold the weight on the largish surface area. Just me, the yammie and some digital vernier callipers I also looked into using the wing root - but that'd put stress on the root itself - can't rely on friction to keep it in. My design should allow for almost full sweeping back of the wing - I've already changes the design from the pic above. Good luck to you on the '19! Mommar
I'm no mechanical engineer. None of my ideas for Fast Packs for the 19 have panned out either. I'm interested to see how this 11 mod works out.
MechTech
Just my two cents, check out DH-101. A couple of these on the wings and missiles will hold them. http://www.kjmagnetics.com/products.asp?cat=10 They're thin enough to look lilke hardpoint on the wings. - MT

Perhaps a very thin metal strip or metal inserts, will make that work perfectly.
Kurisama
Awesome! Thanks MechTech! They will definitely come in handy for some things I have planned :-) cheers!
Kurisama
Update time~! Got a spare few hours to spend finishing the HMM for the VF-11. Enjoy

anime52k8
:edit: Any chance we can get adapters for attaching these to the VF-19? and YF-21/VF-22? PLEASE? Edited June 6, 2012 by anime52k8
Kurisama
I have an idea or two for the 21/22, but no luck on the 19... I don't own one sorry! So I can't do any accurate measurements or test fittings...
Benson13
What does HMM stand for? Also your project looks pretty slick man. Are you going to be selling sets?
Kurisama
High manoeuvre missiles is my guess. Once I have a set in my hands and it all fits and works properly, I'll not only make this set available - but I will also make the missile and pylon available separately so peeps can purchase and add to their VF-1's and any other valk with attachment points. Mommar
Awesome. I can't wait to deck out my 11's! Any idea what the cost might be looking like at this point for the whole thing?
Benson13
I just need to find a cheap VF-11C.
Kurisama
Not sure of the pricing yet - although it did occur to me that if i hollow it out it will be a lot cheaper - but then I have to go to the (relatively easy) trouble of doing as such. Benson13 - good luck on getting one! By far my most fave yammie/valkyrie - a superb toy.
neoexcaliber
That looks really nice. Can't wait to see them attached to your VF-11.
Kurisama
Thanks fellas! Just a heads-up; http://www.shapeways.com/shops/RPG Opened up a shop, put an order for everything in White, Strong & Flexible - and also White Detail, see which one turns out best. When and if I'm happy with the results - I'll make 'em available to everyone Later!
Kurisama
Apart from the HMMs and aileron clip-on parts - I made shield adapters for the VF-11 too, mostly inspired by the way my GN-U Dou can pose the shield. Allows for 6 different shield positions. Hope people dig it - can't wait to see how it turns out IRL; And better screen caps of the HMM and aileron clip-ons; No more update on this until about this time next week I guess? Mommar
I was curious what that shield adapter was all about. It's so the shield can be angled on the forearm while in Battroid?
Kurisama
Sure is! The shield in battroid mode limits posability, so I wanted a simple solution to this. I toyed with a ball joint type thing, but that would have made it too thick or fragile.
