Ahab Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Does anyone recall the member who was trying to pitch a large scale SDF kit (I think it was 1/2000) based on digital mock-ups? I recall it looking very good, but it wasn't well received. People seemed to be gunshy at the thought of committing to that technology, at the time. From the looks fo things around here, it might not be a bad time for this project to resurface.,, Quote
anime52k8 Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 It would sertainly be doable but what would be the point? Yamato's already done the definateve SDF-1 kit in 1/2000 and 1/3000. Maybe if it was the SDF:M version; but I'd question if such an undertaking would even be worth the time, money and effort on the part of whoever was putting it together. Quote
Ahab Posted January 17, 2012 Author Posted January 17, 2012 It was the TV version. I won't condemn it as a waste of time or effort until I knew a bit more about it. Even a non transformable version could be a doable, in terms of cost. Quote
Ghadrack Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 It was MSLZ22, he has the skills, but that guy is about as busy in the kit business as anyone on earth. If he makes one and a kit available I'll be in line to get one, but I wouldn't hold my breath until he has the opportunity. PS check out his current regult thread, i's pretty spectacular. Quote
Justiciar Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 It could have been me. I was working with Jason Lewis to bring his cgi tv sdf-1 (which was very well received here) over to resin. I was planning on 1/2500. There really wasn't enough interest to warrant going thru with it. Quote
Ahab Posted January 18, 2012 Author Posted January 18, 2012 Could you post a link? Thanks, Justiiciar. Quote
Justiciar Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=30549&hl=justiciar&st=0 Reading through the thread again, no, I don't believe I'll work on it further. Hopefully others will step up and come out with something cool. Quote
