The slots will re-open again as we get closer to the release.

Esp NY. Because they want us to spend more that's for sure. And they need that extra amount after marking up the price so that they can upgrade their customer service. ;)

Do these still need to be painted? Any estimates on how big in inches are the finished product?

There's no confirmation, but I would think they come almost completely color-molded. Probably just the blades on the knives, maybe some accent colors will be missing...

Size is ~14cm, 5.5 in.

With Bandai stuff you're going to get mostly to full color matching and snap-fit construction. At worst you'll get stickers for details and maybe the knives won't have color separation from the hilt, but they've gotten better about that sort of thing too. No way of knowing for sure until they come out and someone shows the sprues, but that's what you can expect based on their other lines of models.

It looks like all the colors are seperate pieces on the gernsback,  but the blades are probably just one color. The arbalest looks close to molded in color, but some of the smaller yellow areas may be stickers while others look like molded yellow plastic

If they don't need painting I'll probably buy to add to my hoard of unbuilt kits

Kotobukiya 1/60 ARX-8 Laevatein Model Kit Reissue
https://hlj.com/product/KBYKP-453/Sci

If you haven't gotten this, I strongly - STRONGLY - recommend it. Aside from being a fan of the design, I think the kit itself is absolutely fantastic to build. It does a better job executing on Bandai's gunpla trends than Bandai does, while also being perfectly at home with other Kotobukiya kits. Everything came together perfectly with this kit, figuratively and literally. It's largely the reason that I've warmed up to the Laevatein's design as much as I have.

...by the way, do we have a dedicated Kotobukiya thread?

Any of those questionable sellers? I have heard things about nin-nin.

I heard bad things with nin-nin too, but from my own experiences they delivered what I preordered. :unknw:

My vf-31a is with them too since I had some points with them.

For the MB Laevatein, you can probably get it from HLJ , cdjapan, N-Y closer to release date for a better price.

You can always preorder it from eknightmedia as a backup since you can cancel anytime and they wont charge until they get it.  But you will need to pay tax since you are from CA.<_<

I guess I may as well put in a pre-order with them, and hope to catch someone's HLJ cancellation.

I would definitely buy an m9 if kotobukiya made it. I like the old anime style of the arbalest and hope they would keep the old school fmp style on other releases. And bandai could do all the newer style designs.

I want that Melissa Mao unit. How tall in inches would that be when assembled? Any idea guys?

The Kotobukiya 1/60 Laevatein is roughly 14-15cm tall (about the size of a small MG), so I'd imagine these will be, too.

"Real" thing = 8-10m (26-33 ft)
1/48 kits = 16-21cm (6.3-8.3 in)
1/60 kits = 13-17cm (5-6.7 in)

Thanks! Might buy this with the RG Tallgeese when they both come out. Hopefully my meagre salary increase can fund this one.

No response from HLJ just yet, but they always tend to be a little bit slower with these things. Will probably get a shipping confirmation Sunday night into Monday.
